Not Submersible, But Great For Wet Ground and Rain
I've used two of these so far, one green and one orange. I work at a car rental agency, and I bought these to use to connect our shop vac to an extension cord. We can't use a speed bump type cord cover for this because the vac moves around a lot. The wash area where we clean the cars is almost continuously wet, both with shallow standing water and spray from hoses. This little gizmo does the job of keeping the cords connected, lifting them off the wet ground, and protecting the connection from water spray. It is not intended to be submerged under water, and should not be used for this purpose. But we have never had any problems with connectivity or electrical shorts while using this cover in areas with standing water puddles less than 1" deep.It has 2 significant "flaws":1. The openings on either end where the cords come out are vulnerable to abrasion/pinch damage over time, and you may find some insulation wear on the cords at those points. Wrapping them with tape has limited use because the opening is just large enough for the cord and doesn't really accommodate any additional thickness such as tape.2. If you run over it with a car, it's done for. That's how the last two we've had died. Of course, this cover is not intended to withstand that (it would be nice if it were made of a thick, rigid rubber), but they are inexpensive enough that replacing them periodically is not a big deal. This is the only product of its kind on the market that I can find, so for now it will have to do. But it does its job well, within the limitations of its design.

It Works!
This is a very good product. I would have given it 5 stars if it had accommodated my plug better. Let me explain. This is actually a device that locks two plugs (male and female) together. A piece of special foam is placed over the prongs of the male end before inserting into the female plug. The special foam forms a water-tight seal when the plugs are compressed together by the plastic housing. It is the connection that is water-tight and not the connector. The connector will also keep your plugs from coming apart if the ends of the lines are pulled. The missing star for this review is because I had to modify (by cutting) my connector in order for it to accommodate my L shaped plug. I cut the outer housing from the end up to about an inch so that my L shaped plug could rest flush inside with the prongs straight up to receive the female plug. Then as I screwed in the other (inner) housing, it properly compressed the plugs together. I think the original design should have incorporated this feature to preclude me having to do my "hack" job.The plastic housing hinges are not very strong. So care must be taken not to overly stress them. Also, all of these connectors are the same size and by the same manufacturer. It is hard to tell from the pictures. I did purchase the green one and the one by another seller. They are all from the same manufacturer and are the same size. I am happy I got these. They do work if utilized correctly. Screw them together very snuggly. They do take the regular sized 3 prong plugs. I needed this for my Chevy Volt. The charger for the Volt had the L shaped plug. It has only rained lightly. But, I am confident in the design of these connectors.

Cord lock works, but….
The cord lock works, but leaks a little. Don’t know if it’s condensation or rain. The cord is on a GFI receptacle, so there’s no danger and it’s not tripping the GFI. Overall, I’m pleased. It’s better than the bare extension cord connection laying on the ground.

Really Do The Job
I bought two of these for my two outdoor bird baths. They really do the job. Totally water resistant. The color is shocking to see in a natural setting, so I hid them under rocks or tucked behind other outdoor items. It was nice to have the water all winter for the various wildlife that come through. We enjoyed it greatly!

Useful little tool. Understand the limitations: It is not 100% waterproof. But it is element/water/dirt/fire protectant.
Works well. Seems to help protect the cord/plug from the elements. It is not 100% waterproof, so be aware of that. It "protects" the plug from direct rain, water, sun, and other things. But if you drop this into a puddle of water, water WILL get inside. It is NOT (I repeat, NOT) water-seal-proof-tight-barrier protection. It's designed so that (for example):The plug doesn't get directly rained on.The plug doesn't get directly sprayed on by sprinklers. The dirt doesn't go into the plug. The plug won't come undone for some reasonQuickly identifies to you where the two extension cords meet so you can quickly go there to do whatever you want to do. (Unplug, I guess). If fire is to start (heaven forbid) and start at the plug for some reason (heaven forbid), the fire will be self-contained inside the protective sleeve.Understand the limitation and intentions of this device.
