Logan A1 Whistle (Silver)

Very nicely made Sheep (Cow) Dog whistle. It looks to be made of premium polished aluminum, but maybe it's another material. I'm not sure. It doesn't have any taste in the mouth. I've seen demonstrations of sheep dogs commanded by whistles from the time I was young boy going to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado with my father.I have a small dog that has been trained for obedience and agility. I wondered if a whistle could be used to alert a dog to various agility obstacles I have never seem them used for this, as it's more the use of hand signals, foot placement and body language of the handler, but I'm a curious person. And I was curious about these types of whistles.For starters they are not something that you are able to just put in your mouth and get a tone easily right from the first try. You have to develop the proper embouchure as if you are learning to play a musical wind instrument. I believe there is a tendency to over blow in the beginning and the position, and rigidity of tongue and lips is very important along with steady controlled air pressure.On day one I could hardly make any sound at all, but by day two, I was at least getting some inconsistent tweets out of the whistle. Day three began to show some more improvement with the development of an inconsistent but sometimes proper sounding whistle. I'm at day 4 or 5 now, and I'm getting better, but still not solid with any first attempt. Also I'm now beginning to try to develop specific whistles for specific action I expect from the dog, such as "Come, stop, and down."The bottom line is that I believe this is a very good quality construction whistle that will give satisfying results with practice. It's kind of like a Steinway piano: You can buy one if you can afford it; but just because you own one, doesn't make you a concert artist.You have to be willing to take the time to practice and eventually develop the necessary skill. I do recommend this whistle, but you must realize that it's not just a simple toy, but more of a top of the line musical instrument that takes time and effort to learn to play successfully. and in a manner that convinces others that you know what your are doing. That mainly would be your dog.

This whistle is by far the BEST whistle ever!!! So much easier to use and the sound is incredible. I would recommend this product to all folks who have dogs (working or non working) period. Love the whistle. It came with a nice thank you note and some instructions on how to use the whistle. I think the product is real quality and worth the price. It took a few weeks to get to me in the USA from the UK but worth the wait. It has a great sound. I practice while driving in the car so I do not bother our dogs while I am in the learning stage.

Product is great quality and exactly as described. Takes a little getting used if you have never used one before. They actually have directions and instructional videos.j

It is hard to make different sounds. I prefer the cheaper ones.

There is no comparison to the cheaper, plastic whistles. Much better.

Nehme diese Pfeife als Rückruf für meine Hunde. Funktioniert 100%ig !!!!Klasse Verarbeitung, und wie ich finde tolles Design. Macht sich auch als Kettenanhänger gut.☺

Zum Üben hatte ich mir zuerst eine Pfeife für wenige Euro gekauft und habe darum einen Vergleich. Der fällt uneingeschränkt positiv zugunsten der Logan Whistle aus. Großer Tonumfang, leichte Tongebung, alles bestens!

This is a nice loud whistle ,you need practice to use this if you haven't used one before,YouTube videos are a great help in using these type of whistles for the first time .good for training the dog .

zum Trainieren dieser beiden "Wildlinge" hab ich die Logan-Hundepfeife angeschafft. Und ich muss sagen: die Wirkung ist genial. Aber man muss viel üben am Anfang, um überhaupt einen brauchbaren Ton herauszubringen. Dank der Hinweise und Lernvideos geht es aber relativ schnell. Ich will die Pfeife auch über größere Entfernungen und bei der Hütearbeit (Pferde) einsetzen, und da ist es wichtig, verschiedene Pfeiftöne einsetzen zu können. Ich kann die Hundepfeife nur weiterempfehlen - aber man sollte Geduld aufbringen beim Üben - nur nicht aufgeben !
