A must to add to your library!
More books like this need to be published and well read. Go, women! And men, too. However, women are highly underrepresented in many professionals around the world, both in the past and even now.

This book highlights some amazing women of past and present...
Meant to teach young girls that they can do anything they set their minds to and inspire them to pursue their dreams, this book highlights some amazing women of past and present who have done things to change history in some way and improve the lives of others in a big way. This book features many women who have made a difference in the area of human rights, however it has left out some important female historical figures that I feel should have been added to a book like this, three of which being:*Sojourner Truth (est. 1797-1883): Born a slave, after having escaped slavery with her infant daughter, Sojourner devoted her life to fighting for all kinds of reform including racial and gender equality, rights to vote for all people, as well as prison reform, and property rights. She overcame so much and did so much to change the lives of others for the better. There is a lot more of Sojourner’s story to be told.*Florence Nightingale (1820-1910): Having grown up in England during the Victorian Era—a time and place in which women lacked many rights including property rights—Florence fought against the pressure and demands of society and her family who expected her, having been born into a upper class family and a female, to maintain her social class by marrying a man of means and pursuing a domestic life. Florence dreamt of a different life, to pursue the vocation of nursing, which the upper class saw as inferior, low-status work. Florence was a philanthropist who cared for ill and poor people from a young age, and she felt strongly that nursing was her calling. Despite many threats and objections, Florence became a nurse and devoted her life to helping the needy, fighting for equal rights to health care, and improving health care practices.*Mother Teresa (1910-1997): There is so much to say about this woman. This is a prominent female historical figure that has made a strong impact on the world. Mother Teresa, also known as Saint Teresa, from a young age dedicated her entire being to and poured her heart and soul into serving the poorest of the poor. Her steadfast efforts and accomplishments in caring for the world’s needy earned her numerous honors, including a Nobel Peace Prize "for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitutes a threat to peace" (The Official Web Site of the Nobel Prize). Mother Teresa was and remains in history as a strong pillar of unconditional love, kindness, and compassion.Regardless, there are some incredible women featured in this book with life stories sure to inspire.I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the book's publisher in exchange for my honest review, for which I am very grateful.

The future is female
I would like to thank both Arcturus Publishing & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of 101 Awesone Women Who Changed Our World by Julia Andrews. This book includes an illustration and a few easy to read paragraphs about 101 different women that have fearlessly stood up for their beliefs, themselves & one another over the years. From politicians to scientists to humanitarians, this book gives every little girl the opportunity to find her own hero. As a person and mother of color, I especially appreciated the diverse representation of women from all across space, time & ethnicity. I think it is incredibly important for little girls to see themselves represented as successes instead of stereotypes & I think this book dies a wonderful job with that. The mini- biographies for each woman are short & should be readable for children as young as 6-7yrs old. It also includes a glossary with definitions of the “bigger words” which empowers young readers to work on using their resources. My 10 yr old is a bit of an advanced reader but even still, she really enjoyed this book & used it as a springboard to then do more thorough research on the women & stories that especially piqued her interest. Even I learned about some new names & was reminded of a few I had forgotten about as well. This is definitely one that can be shared across generations of fierce women in our own families.

a good book for young readers although maybe a bit simplistic otherwise
I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalleyI enjoyed this book but it was honestly a bit too simplistic for me personally. However it is a book aimed primarily at younger readers so I think they would get a lot more enjoyment out of it. I think it offers some good basic information as a way to help introduce these women, but I kept thinking 'well you left out this or that' because I've read so many of these types of books before. Still, it featured a very diverse group of women and there were several I hadn't heard of so that was nice. If i had to give any big criticisms it would be to even out the entry lengths - some women had literally a single paragraph while others had a whole page - and also as always with these books I would like to see more trans women featured [this had only one - Laverne Cox].

This one is best avoided
Much of the material appears common to other books of this type, however this one seems unfinished in parts, with sentences stopping in mid flight.I bought it for my daughter who is young and I do not approve of the writing giving a positive spin on 'open relationships' as some kind of feminist empowerment. It's also politically left wing where it should be neutral. The authors may not like Margaret Thatcher, however as Britain's first female prime minister she deserved consideration for a place in the leaders section alongside Hillary Clinton.

Love it!
My 8 year old daughter is an avid reader- she’s read all the Harry Potter books and like series so we wanted to get her into more nonfiction. This book has been great as she’s learnt so much about women in our history. She’s having conversations about suffragettes and female activists now and it’s reaffirming that she can strive to be anything she wishes. The book is engaging and has accompanying illustrations that add colour and interest. My 32 year old sister has asked for one for Xmas as it’s really informative and caught her interest. Recommend!
