Nice watch, but not for me
I ordered this watch based upon the price. It’s actually a very nice timepiece. However my wrist is around 7.5 inches and the diameter of the watch is smaller than I care for. I enjoy BIG watches! This seiko is very tasteful, and understated. The face is so nice, I hated to send it back, but I really wanted a more expensive and larger version. This watch can gain or lose time because it’s self winding. I love automatic watches, no matter how much they differ with the actual time. You can always set it ahead or back as needed.Returning was simple and I eventually ordered a different Seiko.

Great automatic SEIKO, for what feels like a steal of a pricepoint!
Great first automatic watch, for what feels like a steal-of-a-pricepoint. The dial is gorgeous, the lum is surprisingly great, and it just feels like an all-around quality timepiece. Like most other reviews, there is a noticeable drop in quality with the bracelet (but that can always be swapped out for something different). Would recommend to anyone (like me) who is just getting into watches and is looking for something a small step-up from something like a CASIO or TIMEX. You will be happy you did!

incredible watch for the price
Beautiful date complication with blue coloring for saturdays and red for sundays. Gorgeous "graph paper" style background really makes this unique over other watches. Automatic mechanism makes this hassle free and and easy daily watch. The band is easy to take off in case you want to swap to something else - I now wear it on a NATO strap.

Solid piece. White dial and size are the plusses.
Most of the time the tick marks look black, not silver. Lume is great. Also in the evening the delicate cross hatch dial design gets hard to make out. The band kind of sucks but that's how most Seiko 5 watches are setup so you know that going in.Pictures don't really do the hands justice. The lume paint on them is thick and they're boldly traced in black so they stand out in dimmer light and fade into white in bright light. Interesting effect.Love the watch, new fav.

Beautiful watch, poor quality
Watch arrived with bezel not fully inserted and clearly visible scuffs - looked as if someone had removed the bezel and put it back sloppily. I had to carefully push it back in all the way against a flat surface. Needless to say the watch is not water resistant at all. The band is cheap folded links and the 19mm size makes finding replacements a headache. But, the dial is absolutely gorgeous and the movement itself is great. Seiko automatic watches kill me with their accessible price point and beautiful design and their cheap, fragile bands. I'd like to say I've had it with them but I know this won't be my last one.

Understated and perhaps, underrated
The "huge watch" trend is thankfully running its course. I never went over 45mm, and even that is looking a bit excessive to me in anything other than a diver's or pilot's watch. This watch is only 38mm and just looks the perfect size for me for a dress watch. The accuracy is outstanding. It loses only a few seconds a day, which is great for an automatic watch. Very easy to read, even with my bad eyesight. The only drawback is the bracelet, but then again, Seiko is unfortunately well-known for the inferiority of their bracelets. The links are rolled, not solid steel. Very problematic to remove links. (I didnt even bother trying). I already knew when I chose this Seiko that I would need an upgraded bracelet and I ordered one for it at the same time. Can't wait till it comes as I think this will become a great everyday, work day watch.

Nice entry level automatic timepiece. Versatile, Simple and Elegant.
After a lot of research i decided to buy this timepiece as my first automatic watch. First of all the watch looks absolutely elegant. I love the exhibition case back on the Seiko 5 line. Makes you appreciate the precision, artistry and the engineering that goes into making these watches. I love the checkered pattern on the dial (one of the features that made me buy this piece). The luminous markings are nice and bright for the dark. You could either rock this timepiece with a perlon, leather or nato which makes it super versatile. If you are a person that usually wears a watch with a case width of 40 to 43mm; which i am, get used to this one being a little on the smaller side with 38mm. My wrist size is 7.25 inches. However, doesnt take long to get used to it.For less than hundred bucks you cant go wrong with any of the seiko 5s imho. Shipping and delivery were all on time no so complaints there.

Jomashop thinks of their customers
The band in this photo is a solid link replacement. The original stamped sheet metal bracelet is hot garbage, AND it does not match the watch body because it was brushed (not polished).I love the movement because it ticks at a more gradual rate than a quartz. Everything in the watch face is aligned well and the graph lines are more subtle than the other SNK models, which I like. The taller case back does not bother me as much as I thought it would. If you're debating on buying an SNK or the SNX model, buy whichever looks better.Watch arrived fast and well protected. I really appreciate that Jomashop provides a traditional point-of-sale receipt to make it easy for you to register your watch with the manufacturer.I'm giving 5 stars despite the lack of water resistance because this watch was never meant or sold as a sport model. I trust it enough to wash my hands. Do not go swimming with it.
