Mighty Slinky 8.5 set - tried out of curiosity, now a repeat order.
Have been playing recreationally for 35 years. Initially it was always Enie Ball Super Slinky 9s, then the heavier guages came in vogue, I tried 10s, 11s, 12s?, mixed sets, various brands, but I had mixed feelings about them for various reasons. Mindful of putting off arthritic issues/RSI and looking to make life easier, I tried these Mighty Slinky 8.5s. Can't be happier, these work brilliantly on my 2003 Epiphone SG, which has a fixed bridge. I don't tend to do huge amounts of big string bends, and there's no tremelo. It seems to sound good and play well, with the bonus that nothing seems overly stressed including my fingers, but also the standard string grooves in the nut. For me string breakages using these 8.5s are fairly rare, so not always an occurrence between changes, which are probably six months to a year apart, unless a break happens. Breakage rate for me seems broadly, very much like any of the other guage/sets I have tried (pretty low?). These Ernie Ball strings always seem well priced, good quality, and nicely presented. Totally happy with them, over and over again.

Brilliant for beginners
When I started playing the guitar I was a broke college student and couldn’t afford to have things like string replacements done for me, Ernie balls will always be THE string company for any guitar, easy to put on and still sound amazing, very budget friendly and easy on beginners fingers, have bought over and over again since.

Good quality electric guitar strings
These gague10- 46 guitar strings are very popular. Great for a deeper sound if playing rock and metal. Good price too.

Good set of strings for a great price
Good set of strings for a great price. Compared to other strings from D'addario, Gibson, and Elixer, these strings are a much better value since they are so cheap. However, in all the years that I have been playing, I have not once said, "man this guitar is great, what kind of strings are these?" Great guitars play and sound great, period, given of course that you are using at least decent strings. I know that every guitarist has their go-to strings, as do I (and the brands and styles vary across each of my guitars), but honestly strings are strings. These days, so much attention is paid to the manufacturing of these strings, that the quality and consistency is great across a number of different brands. Generally, I can't tell much of a difference in tone, playability, or "slinky-ness" across brands. (I can hear the groans now) Hear me out though, if I want to change the tone, I will get a different string gauge, and this is the same for slinkyness. In the end, given 5 sets of top notch strings, I will pick the fresh set vs. a worn set 10 times out of 10.Pros:Very cheap for 3 sets of strings, that means you can change more often, which in turn means that these strings will feel and sound better longerI feel like they definitely last longer than say Gibson vintage strings, but most coated, modern strings will be comparable.Cons:NoneConclusion:Strings are strings, and given a good set of strings, I would only base this recommendation on price and great value (5 stars for that). If you are just starting out, I recommend you try a number of different strings to find your preference, but usually in a pinch whatever my local shop has on hand has worked just fine

Very pleased my first guitar I owned is a Harley Benton LP copy not expensive at allUnfortunately it started to sound crap and I stopped playing it in favour of my Yamaha I since purchasedI decided to try to improve the HB and so installed a set of Ernie Ball slinkyWow what a difference beautifull tone played through an Orange on clean channel. I am very pleased with the resultNo duff notes and a pleasure again to play the guitar

A great improvement....
I am by no means a guitarist and can only play parts of my favorite songs and themes, and I find myself going in and out of learning things. When getting my guitar knowing it was budget-friendly I always wanted to replace the strings eventually but after my high E string snapped I knew It was time.I'm practically minded and after watching some videos it made changing the strings less scary, just making sure the string wraps around the tuners whilst correctly holding tension until the string has wound enough times is crucial. The colour coding and labeling work very well to distinguish the correct strings and lay all the packets out neatly, doing a string at a time was made easy with these. In terms of feel I believe they're the same gauge as my original strings however they 'feel' more smooth and resonant, they just glide easier! Regarding longevity, I have owned them for 4 months and they have held tune and haven't snapped, this may be partly due to my stretching of the strings when I first installed them to avoid dealing with them setting in so slowly!I would recommend them highly.

Great tone!
They sound pretty great! The base strings are a bit stiff if you are playing metal and need to throw some bends in here and there but not too bad. Also a bit tricky to nail pinch harmonics on the heavy E and A strings as well, but that could just be a skill issue on my parts, so don’t let that sway you much. I’ve had them on through heavy use for a few weeks now and they show no signs of wear yet! Would definitly recommend, especially for Metal players! Tuning stability is better than my old strings for sure, but still have to sharpen them a bit here and there, which again could be my old, original tuning machines.

Decent But…
These strings sound good, but they’re the lightest I’ve ever used and I’m not a big fan. That being said, they bend amazingly if you do that sort of thing when you play, and despite my life-long PTSD from strings snapping while stringing and tuning, I managed to get them on and tuned without issue. The guitar in question is a refurb project so it could be the setup, but they don’t like to stay in tune but, again, that could be the fault of the instrument rather than the strings. Overall, the price is great and they did the job, just not my favorite.
