Grace for us who walk with our mothers...
This book (the newest from Joyce Rupp) could not have come at a better time. Full of love, compassion and grace...and regrets. Yes regrets. It's refreshing to hear that even Joyce Rupp has regrets when it comes to what she might have done differently while her mother was in decline. I began reading this book at 3:00 a.m., when doubts about how I am accompanying my own mom on this walk through end of life, were keeping me from yet another night of sleep. I finished the book, 3 hours later, thanking God that Joyce's book could be my companion while navigating this walk. This is a book to be read by anyone who has doubts... It will offer you comfort knowing that what you're feeling is Spirit lead. Grace abounds.

This book emphasizes the importance of strong commitments to family ...
This book emphasizes the importance of strong commitments to family and how the aging process can affect everyone differently.Joyce's mother was very resilient and connected through her early years to many people in her family and friends. As she aged, her body would not allow her to continue doing her tasks the way she was used to. She kept up with things as much as she could, but had to accept the fact that the aging process was starting to take its toll on her.

Very Helpful Book!
I recently lost my mother. This book has been very helpful to me in dealing with her death. There are many parallels between my mother and Joyce's - my mother was also Catholic and helped with the church lunches after funerals, my mother also liked to go to the casinos, and my mother also lived a long life and slowly declined at the end of it. Thank you, Joyce Rupp, for writing this book.

A wonderful read, reflection and tribute to the author's mother and recommended for anyone taking care of an aging parent. Gave me a new perspective on what Mom really might want vs. what I was providing...we only get to do this once

Thank you!
I have been so awed and inspired by this book and can easily see why it took so long in writing. So much emotional feeling and research went into its development.. Being both a healthcare giver to the elderly and having arrived at that " old age " myself, I identified with so much of it. It is so beautifully written and gave me so much to think and pray about.

Relationship with our mothers.
This book touched me greatly as it made me think of my own relationship with my mother who is deceased. It also put into perspective what it is like to grow older and how one can be more sensitive to those growing old. Wish my mom was here to have this conversation with her.
