Fashionable Clothing from the Sears Catalogs: Late 1970s (A Schiffer Book for Collectors)

This was a very helpful book for my doll clothes business. I use books like this alot when I am sewing costumes from a different time period than today.

We just did a play set in 1979 and this was an invaluable source for costuming. It has a wide variety of clothing that "real" people wore, not just fashion models. The only complaint that I have is that the bindingon the book came loose after looking through it a couple of times (and I am very careful with my books - I value my research library!) And several of the pages were inserted crooked and with large folds in them.

Yes. The fashions are there. I like this book....BUT....the binding is crap. It WILL FALL APART. Buy used for super cheap...around $2.

Awesome book for research hair makeup and wardrobe

A fab sampling of fashion right out of the Sears catalog. I bought it, I love it.

Well this is a lovely book full of pictures from 1970s catalogues...BUT, hold on...this is predominantly women's fashion and less than 10 percent of the content has men's fashion pictures or details.So any one interested to overall browse 70s fashion are welcome to do so or refer for women's clothing only.This is NOT a book for men's fashion of the 70s for which I bought the book.Definitely a biased compilation and the title does not reflect the same.
