No instructions and very light weight shock. Tailgate still bounces if you drop it.

This is a cheap knockoff of a Ford product. The item is poorly made, and the hinge flange was severely warped from poor quality welding, resulting in the inability to reinstall the tailgate when this unit was installed. Installation instructions were non-existent, only a card containing a hyperlink to a web site that did not actually have instructions for the item of interest. I returned it and ordered a genuine Ford part from a dealer.

Super easy to install after you watch at a YouTube video. The installation only took 10 minutes!Now the gate doesn’t slam down and my 8 year old can close it.Worth the money!

Anymore, this is something that should come from the factory for pickup tailgates. It's great to be able to unlatch it and let it go; it's not going to crash to a stop. Installation is straightforward; does require some minor-moderate wrenching, ability and tools.

No instructions in my box, maybe it was forgotten but a you tube video shows how to do it and its so easy that the instructions for install that i did not get, were not needed. Great product!!!

The shock is almost useless. I'm looking for a heaver shock now. Don't waste your money

Bracket shipped in black. If you don’t care if it matches your paint not a big deal. Easy to install and works amazing.
