Junior: Writing Your Way Ahead In Advertising

Highly recommended, for any profession.
I'm a commercial photographer, in the earlier stage of his career, and this book hit home for me. It's basically the book I would write for wanna-be photographers. I constantly found myself saying "yes! exactly! thank you!" out loud to myself while reading it. That and "oh man, smart!" It makes you think about coming at problems from angles you don't immediately consider - it inspires you to get creative.I think it's so valuable to hear from someone who is current in the industry, someone who is still trying to REALLY make it, work his way up. The advice from someone who was in your position just a couple years ago is going to be much more relevant than the advice from someone who hasn't been at your level in decades.I feel the ideas in this book extend way passed copywriters. Like I said, I'm a photographer, so still in the advertising world. But, really - this book could be for anyone who wants to stand out and succeed in any industry. It's smart, well-written, and funny. Even the design / layout is awesome.

Great Book.
Excellent read for anyone considering the advertising industry. The first half is relatively specific to copywriting while the second half is more general and touches on the agency world, clients, production, new business pitches and general advice. A quick and easy read with lots of valuable information, clearly based on experience. Highly recommended.

Fun, quick, and actionable book
This is one of the best marketing books I've read in forever, because the author loosens up from the stuffy, over-professional books you're used to reading. While I'm not a copywriter, I do write a lot for work - emails, training presentations, etc. and I've taken real actionable steps to improve based on what I read here. Great read.

Beautiful design, helpful advice, funny and educational.
Funny book, and pretty helpful. Actionable advice, as the kids say. Gives ideas on assembling portfolio, applying to agencies and reworking your writing to arrive at the perfect copy. You’ll refer back to this as a reference book. And the design is gorgeous. Follow him on Twitter. He’s a nice gent.

How To Become A Copywriter
“Junior” has the energy, commitment, and wit of a beginning copywriter, paired with the wisdom of someone who has been there.Pithy advice is peppered throughout: “Aesop. Shakespeare. Hemingway are dead. Feel free to rummage through their stuff.” There’s even a defense of puns. A primer for would-be ad copywriters, and a peek inside this crazy, creative area of business. The book demystifies an iconic marketing job, and the writer disarms even the most skeptical consumers.

Just ok
Not bad. Not great. Just ok. Do I feel like I wasted my time reading this? No. Did I learn a lot? No. It did inspire me to write my own book though. So, there you go.

Finally A Copywriting That Uses It's Own Copywriting Tips!
This is by far the most interesting, but fun read I've had in the copywriting space. Most old 'legendary' copybooks have a lot of things you can learn from them. But they're not as relatable, as 'Junior'.I feel like this is a book that will become legendary in the future, and right now, it's an amazing copybook relatable to copywriters of the technological era.BONUS: THE BEST COVER (seriously)
