Battery is definitely a surprise, and the recipe as well. It clearly shows what temperature means and how to use this thermometer. Very easy to use, to read, and to storage. I put it on the side of my frigerator because the thermometer is a bit heavey. When I open door of frigerator, sometimes, the thermometer may slip. I would suggest put on a stable place, which is safer. The thermometer needs few seconds to show number. Just hold it and be a little patient.

Nice thermometer! Comes with battery. Be sure to open the battery compartment and remove the shrink wrap from battery prior to use. (The instructions didn't mention that.) Fast, accurate readings in 3-5 seconds. I'd never used a meat thermometer before, always just guessed when it was cooked enough. Now I no longer have to play the guessing game :)

Only used twice, but it REALLY impressed me. This thermometer is easy to use and appears to be accurate. The temperature changes so quickly you see it changing as you insert it. I cook all the time at home, so I found it is very useful, especially when I cook steak.

I really like this product it is small and fits in my small kitchen and it works to go into food in the oven and is long enough to not burn your hand

Okay, but not as easy as you would think to calibrate...stick in water with ice?

Replaced old round top dial display type with this digital model. Works as expected and display very easy to read.

Like this thermometer a lot especially I BBQ lamp today, it just gave a perfect guide on cook temp. Everyone said that was a great choice. I am so happy I made this choice!!!
