Durable and reliable so far
I installed this in our yard last summer after reading that you couldn't go wrong with Woodford. It's well made, solid, and install was a breeze. Much better put together than the cheap yard hydrants at the local box store.

Second purchase
Purchase the first one a few years back, maintenance free, sturdy and quality product. Replaced a second faucet with this one. Worth the money.

High Quality
My house came with one of these yard hydrants which seems to have been installed long before we got here in 2010, and it still works great, summer, winter, no issues. We also inherited a cheap knockoff hydrant in a different location (with a blue handle) that has been difficult to use.I needed to install another hydrant in a third location, and chose this Woodford brand because of my good experience with the old one. This one works just as well as the old one, smooth and easy to operate, no leaks, and hopefully will last a long time.Hint: Check the overall length, not just the bury depth, when you order yours. I went with the 3' bury depth and the top of the handle could be a little higher than it ended up being - perhaps should have gotten a 4' bury depth one. Overall, though, very happy. I took an old plastic (joint compound) bucket and drilled some drain holes in it, and packed the base of the hydrant in the bucket it with a 3/8" gravel bed. Also surrounded the bucket with landscape fabric so that hopefully it continues to drain well over time.

American made and built to last
Trust in this American made product that has a long history of reliability and rebuild ability. Have used these hydrants for over 50 years. Even in Deep South Texas, where it doesn’t really freeze that much—just good insurance.

Good quality
You can puchase a low quality hydrant at. Cheaper price but in a few years, or less, you will be replacing it. This is a quality hydrant rhst will last.

Quality made and heavy duty
Works great, very glad I invested in quality as I don't want to be digging this back out. I installed 2 , one at my barn and the other midway. Both operate as they should.

Wanted the best, and Woodford is it.
This is the second Woodford we've bought for our 43 acre property and I am really happy with them. Built like tanks and completely repairable by owners (if even ever necessary), this is the good old American type of goods I like to buy. Yes, paying $200 for a yard hydrant is a lot, but these will sit outside in any weather for decades and still work. The only problem I had was when I opened the box, which was in perfect condition on arrival, I found the hydrant handle was shoved out of line and was pushed to, and stuck, to one side of the main housing of the hydrant. (I didn't know they would even go that far). I wrote the seller and sent them some pics, and asked if they would replace parts, if needed, once I got it installed if there were any issues. They replied quickly and told me, sure, they would send me any parts if there were issues. Not sure how it got banged hard enough to do this while inside of a cardboard box without damaging the box, but so for, so good.
