This bulb is NOT truly rated to function at 9v-12v. As anyone who knows batteries knows, a 12v battery is actually closer to 13v. Well it runs fine of those (or the 8x1.5 AA setup for the same amount). But it REFUSES to work at all for anything less than 11v. If the room is PITCH BLACK you can see the tiniest shimmer off the LED's but that is all. I have an orange bulb version of this same product and it performs BRILLIANTLY at as low as 8.5v.So unless you plan to ONLY have a 12v power source, AVOID THIS BULB.

The product seems well made, but even with 8 fresh AA batteries it's only suitable for low light applications. Also, the modes, especially the flashing speed, are difficult to cycle though. If you have it on a pulsing setting, which you have to do to SEE the flash speed, you have to wait 3 seconds between speed changes. It's just a tedious set up process. BUT, once you set your settings and use it in low light, it would be a good product.

Great prop.Doesn't emit too much light and works very well isolated on one object at close range.Using it on my porch to illuminate a single scary grave crawler.

Eh this thing works but I expected more light out of it for the size of the battery system. It will work well if you are only looking to make a couple square feet pop/luminesce if you need a bigger area of effect you will need multiple lights or a different approach.
