Good device, inexpensive, does what it's suppose to
"It's a poor musician who blames his instrument." Other reviews have mentioned this units uses Celsius. My first attempt wasn't that good. But it cleaned up easily in the sink. The next attempt at making beef jerky went well. Plenty of space for 2 pounds of meat. Quiet (yes you can hear it when you're next to it (it's a machine)), easy to use. Great to start with in learning how to dehydrate food.

Don't know if this is typical or not, certainly hope not
couldn't wait to make apple chips, peeled, cored and sliced apples, all looked well, placed in machine and started, within an hour there was a smell of mold filling the kitchen. tasted many slices, all tasted like mold. I did not smell any mold on any apple after slicing, but I have bitten into one now and then which tastes moldy. but tasted fine. Soaked trays in soapy water, washed, prepared another small batch of apples, tasted each one - all fine. after a short time could smell mold in the air, every piece of apple tasted moldy. now sprayed all trays with cleaner with bleach, sprayed base unit next to air outlet, let them set for hours, then washed all trays and base with soapy water and rinsed, dried. ran the unit with no food in it, smelled pretty good, thought there was a hint of mold, but was hoping it was simply in my mind, not the nose. made another batch, thought I smelled mold, hoped for the best. sure enough, the first bite filled my whole head with the taste and smell of mold. the machine absorbs odors, especially bad ones, seems to work well enough, but will look for a model which does not absorb food odors so much...not sure if that is possible.....wanted to warn every one, now that they are out of stock!!

Broke in the first 4 hours
Within 4 hours of use, the heating fuse blew, so only the fan worked. I unfortunately got rid of the box, so i couldnt return it. My husband graciousy offered to replace the fuse for me, but it requires a 3 prong Philips head screwdriver to get into the controls. So we had to buy a special tool just to open it....the brand new broken dehydrator. Very dissatisfied and disapointed, I was so excited to use it and it broke in the middle of making jerky. Waste of money, i will buy better quality next time, and encourage you to do the same.

Stopped working
No longer heats up after only 4 uses. WTH? The temperature only displayed in Celsius so you had to learn to convert temps to F. And the temp only went up to 158F and making jerky needs 160F. Was working fine for dehydrating apples but it now won't heat up. It just shows you, you get what you pay for and this MVPower dehydrator appears to be JUNK.

Unit went bad but seller refunded full purchase price
Dehydrator lasted 8 months. Heating element went out. Asked seller to replace but unit was discontinued so they refunded full purchase price. Great seller! Thank you!!

Didn’t last long.
I have had this device for over a year. But it actually was stored in a closet most of that time. I stated using it regularly in March to make dog treats. So basically I’ve used it three months and the Heating element has now burned out. I’ll probably replace this with a more expensive better made model

Amazon stop selling junk!
After 2nd use, no more heat. Fan is working. Can't return or contact customer service. AMAZON stop allowing and sell junk under your name! 3rd party seller, I'm still buying from amazon website. WTF

Moderate dehydrator
This dehydrator has temperature control, but it's set in Celsius so you'd have to look up the conversion for Fahrenheit. It does have the time to set for dehydration. The instruction booklet has very minimal instructions for use. Not the best dehydrator, but it can be dealt with if you know what you're doing when it comes to dehydrating foods.
