3,000 Solved Problems in Linear Algebra 1st Edition

I would recommend this book to young learners starting out on how to write proofs in linear algebra. Although I have not attempted to solve ALL 3000 problems, I have attempted a significant amount. If you plan to use this book as a solution manual to your Linear Algebra class, I would discourage you from doing so. Not that the book is not helpful, but I don't think HW should be done that way. Although, what I would recommend is to use this to only CHECK after you have attempted many times and you think you already have an answer. In addition, proofs can be done in many ways. Sometimes the book may have a more "elegant" proof, but sometimes YOU might actually have a more elegant proof.In any case, its a good book to pick up and start cranking out extra questions on top of your current class. In addition, you might even see a test question where you've practiced something close to it from this book!Good luck!verdict: BUY

These examples cover the kinds of problems you're likely to see in an intro-level course pretty thoroughly. I've been really surprised by how helpful this book actually is; I assumed that either the textbook would be enough or I could just look more stuff up online as needed. Technically I could I guess but this is a big time-saver in that when I'm working on stuff I'm often looking for a good example of a specific kind of problem and it's not always easy to dig through a million web sites to find it.In general, this is well-organized with a good table of contents so it's easy to find problems that relate to your particular issue. In general, the examples are appropriately chosen so that they are representative of the kinds of exercises you'd run into in an ordinary textbook.Overall, highly recommended. This'll make your life a lot easier.

This book is exact good and I learned it very much, I recommend it to all students. I received it very sooner than I was expected .

Not only it contains many problems, you can review and learn linear algebra thoroughly using this book.

I bought this book as a review of Linear Algebra. It fits the bill perfectly, but I'm finding errors on practically every third page. Some of them are minor enough that they don't really matter, but sometimes they dramatically affect the questions. As an example that I just ran into, the problem asks the reader to prove ||u.v|| = ||u|| ||v|| sin(x) . This was in the section on cross product, and taking the norm of a dot product doesn't really make sense because it's a scalar not a vector, so I figured out pretty quickly (with the help of the solution) that it was intended to ask the reader to prove ||u x v|| = ||u|| ||v|| sin(x) . Trying to prove the question actually asked is literally impossible.This wouldn't be that big a deal if it was an isolated incident, but this kind of error is cropping up every 30 problems or so. Math is all about clarity and specificity, and these errors really undermine what would otherwise be a great book. I'm going to keep using it, but I'm going to have to keep my guard up and watch out for mistakes.
