Excellent quality, protection and value for your money.
Great head protection for boxing. The helmet is made of quality material and provides great protection especially with the feature of the face frame protection. I'm very satisfied with the form, fit and function of the gear.

Best protection overall for boxing sparrings
Great fit, unmatched protection for your face. The face protector doesn’t really obstruct the vision and provides great punch absorption in hard sparring sessions. It looks great and feels great, it doesn’t slip at all like other helmets i used. Of course the unmatchable price is great for your wallet as well. I’m impressed and buying one for my son as well!

Great Headgear for any experience level
I'm very happy with this purchase. I've been practicing muy thai for almost a year now. I bought this to spar because I initially didn't want to get hit in the face. I spar with guys 260 - 300. We don't go too hard, but the plastic facegear feels very strong and it does it's job well.We have a tournament coming up so I wanted to start getting used to not using the facemask (taking shots in the face). The bare head guard feels just as good as any other headgear.Offers great protection for any experience level. Our coach has started offering these to students wanting to spar and requiring the facemask for kids that want to spar.Worth more than what it is being sold for.

Modification brings this from decent to good
I'm and adult who trains TKD and boxing and spars (medium contact) regularly in both.My out of the box feelings about the head gear:PROS:-Quite comfortable and sweat absorbent.-Easy to put on and tighten by myself.-Stays in place when hit or moving around even when very sweaty.-Well cushioned around face, back of the head, and around the ears.CONS:-Face shield significantly reduces peripheral vision on the sides, bottom, and top.-Face shield seems over designed.-Could use additional/thicker padding on the sides of the head. After seeing reviews from others where they removed material from the face shield, I went to work with a hot knife, a razor knife, a few hours, and some patience.I have attached the pictures of my modified face shield. Like others I removed material from the side of the eyes so that now the padding from the helmet is the restriction on my sideways peripheral vision rather than the plastic. I also removed the top cross face bar as it restricted my upper peripheral vision when my chin was tucked properly and also because it just seemed unnecessary. Finally, I removed the 2 vertical bars that cross in front of your mouth as they also seemed unnecessary and blocked areas of my lower peripheral vision. After cutting these areas out with the hot knife, I cleaned up all the edges so that they were smooth both for myself and my sparring partner's sake. After the modifications, the face shield still feels adequately strong but it has vastly improved peripherals.Unfortunately, I don't think you should have to modify something so heavily to make it work well and I also think it needs more padding on the sides of the head. These are my reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars.

Great headgear with removable mask
I work full time and I box for recreation and to stay fit. I'm definitely what you consider a beginner. My trainer is a little bigger than me with a longer reach, and in the ring he tends to hold me off with stiff jabs to my nose. He noticed that when he lands a solid punch, I tend to back off and lose aggressiveness. So when I saw that some of the headgear have hockey style masks on them, I thought that would be perfect for me. Sure enough, with the mask on to protect my nose, I'm able to be more aggressive and stand toe to toe more often with my trainer. The headgear is very comfortable. I got a medium size and it fits me well. My buddy is over 6 feet and about 230 pounds, so I got him an XL and he has no problems with the fit. To put on the headgear, you slip it on and just attach the Velcro. Very easy and no strings to mess around with. There's a nice opening for your ears but thick padding so you are still protected. Also padding on top of your head. Padding all around. The inside has a sort of suede cloth-like feel, which is also nice for absorbing sweat so it doesn't feel like you are soaked inside. The mask is hard plastic and may limit your visibility, but it can be removed. My buddy doesn't like it so he spars without it and he still loves the headgear. I'm willing to sacrifice the slightly less visibility and the occasional tease from other boxers in the gym to make sure I walk out of the gym without a crooked nose. Maybe one day I'll take the training wheels off. Regardless, a great headgear with or without the mask on.Edit 11/22/15: without the mask, you will still have padding for chin protection. The padding also comes out to cover your cheeks.

Love it
Perfect head gear it’s comfortable and good quality and the price also worth it..The only thing that it’s a problem but it’s in almost every head gear .. it’s spatial vision

Head protection
Love the gel cushion. I have done martial arts for years but got out of practice and getting back into it. They face cage makes it so I can learn to move my head faster without getting a nose bleed. Ha!I reccomend this.Easy to put on.The face cage is removable, but I wear it.Peripheral vision affected with it in but not enough to stop the benefits of it.Good quality.
