well made and sturdy

I bought this head for my slik tripod. I bought it mainly because it's rated at 5KG.It does need to be locked of pretty right to not slip or move (a very tiny amount, noticeable in long exposures)The locking plate is OK but not fantastic. The little plastic clip which hold back the locking lever has failed, so the locking leaver always springs back to the lock position, making it awkward to take off and replace the plate.The bubble levels are helpful, but sensitive, because the ball head is not damped, its very difficult to align the head straight.Overall though its functional, capable of holding a fair load, It just lacks the bells and whistles of more expensive heads.

A useful addition for my monopod I have have the slik tripod with the same head.

A very simple no frills tripod head, lightweight and sturdy. good ball head and excellent built in spirit levels (2). Just what I expected a perfect for my travel needs.

The case is not large enough for my Slik Pro 400DX Complete Tripod. Its a shame as its a good quality bag.

I've had one of these for about 12 years now and it is as good today as it was new. Very sturdy and well made, nice and compact when folded up and when deployed gives a rock solid platform for most applications.I've used it for everything from go-pros to full size DSLRs with telephoto lenses and it has never let me down. I have other larger tripods but this one gets the most use because of its versatility and compact size.

Years ago I've got a tripod from Slik on the local store (model SDV-20). But taking it somewhere was a real problem. Especially while on foot or on bicycle... This winter I decided to buy a good case for my tripod. And the best one (by price and functionality) I found here.This case is just beautiful! Tripod fits perfectly. A special pocket for I.D. or any note (name or phone number of the holder). A very durable material. And the strap length is adjustable.If you own a Slik tripod (or any other) and searching for a reliable case, I recommend you to look at this original case (or another size). Especially if you tripod listed as compatible or it has similar dimensions.
