Love this brand! Have been buying it for years. Buckwheat is roasted and of very good quality. Price is fair for this amount. Super quick and easy to cook, at least the way I do it. I literally just pour 3 cups of water in a pot, bring it to boil. Rinse 2 cups of buckwheat in a strainer, under faucet, throw it into that boiling water and keep it uncovered and on high heat until or the visible water on top boils out. When the top water is boiled out, I cover it, switch heat to low and cook for another 5-10 min, just until there is no more water left in the pot. Then take off heat, add salt and avocado oil and mix it. Done! It’s sooo good! You can eat it like that with anything. You can roast it on a frying pan with a little bit of butter to give it a bit of crunch. You can eat it as is, use it as base. You can add it to ground meat and make meat patties. You can do whatever you want with it. It’s such a healthy and delicious base! It’s full of natural iron. Product always came in good condition, well packed, and on time.

Excellent--well sealed with 1 outer plastic bag and 1 inner bag---- no holes, no punctures----just perfect Made my 1st batch (1 cup to 1.5 cups of water) in the last hour. EXCELLENT---just like it was as a kid when my mother made it for breakfast. I added some 2% milk and it added some extra flavor. Let it sit for about 10 minutes covered after cooking it for 12 minutes or so. The grains will swell even more and will be even more enjoyable as you eat it. Eat this stuff for breakfast---it will fill you up with nutrition, give you energy and you will be eating pure grains. You can store in your refrigerator after cooking it the night before and then have it ready to eat for a fast breakfast. And DO NOT FORGET---if you acquire the flavor this, you will love it.

I chose this as a healthy fiber for breakfast. It seemed to be a pure form of buckwheat. Previously my recipes with buckwheat flour had an off flavor that my family refused. When I opened the package and lifted the package, the bottom had a tear that sprayed out tiny granules. I’ve been vacuuming the granules that went everywhere. Open it in a dry sink and have a jar ready to contain this product. One batch prepared according to the bag’s directions makes a week of half cup portions. The cereal was surprisingly good. It was covered with unsweetened vanilla almond milk- not the brand with carrageenan and other additives. It has a delicate mouth feel and taste of spice that was surprisingly delicious. There is no need for sweeteners. This brand is made in Russia. The value for the money is excellent. The aroma and taste are very good. The cleanliness was only compromised by the bag breaking in the mailing box and all over the floor. The glued closing of the cellophane bag may have melted from the heat in the metal mailbox.

Bugs we're definitely not listed as an ingredient on the label. I like to supply my own protein and not have it come with the grain that I order. I would say this one is a hard pass.
