Embroidered Country Gardens: Create beautiful hand-stitched floral designs inspired by nature

I saw this book on a ytube video and then Amazon suggested it. I finally bought it and I love it.. the projects are clear, and the stitches are easy to follow. The author also makes it easy to take the “parts” of the projects and put them into your own designs. Highly recommend, especially if you’re doing “down the garden path” slow stitch.

I've been eyeing the author's Etsy store and some of her project kits for a long while now. They are all beautiful, and many are featured in this book, which even has some patterns to try. The photography and artistry of the embroidery is exceptional and there is a good deal of advice for newbies or more experienced stitchers.

I am a total beginner in terms of embroidery and was worried this book would be too advanced for me. However, the author begins with enough details on the basics, both in terms of what materials and tools are needed and the "how to" for each stitch used to create the floral designs, that I was able to replicate the stitches described and get started on my first project. The flower garden designs are so full of character, and there are patterns and descriptions for how to create each type of flower. Putting different elements together and designing your own garden is also discussed. I can see many sewers of different skill levels using this book. I'm glad I purchased this.

I love to do embroidery, but was having some trouble with some of the stitches. This book has some very good instructions. I wish there were more pictures, but even without more pictures, my embroidery skill have improved quite a lot.I also like the designs, which are exactly like what I want to embroider. Beautiful pictures of them, and I appreciate the design tips for designing on my own.I have read and reread several of the sections and I know I will use this book a lot in the future.

I liked the variety of different projects ideas and project designs. I also like all the directions of how to do the veritey of embroidery stitches, and complete the shown projects. It also includes all the materials you may need to do embroidery in general and copy patterns onto fabrics. There is some direction for finishing your projects, but I could use a little more step-by step instruction for that, as a beginner.

The photos/projects are beautiful just to look at. The project patterns being included makes the book a treasure. The instructions are precise and very doable. My only complaint is not about the book but shipping. This is the kind of book you will enjoy looking through and using for many years. My copy was shipped in a bubble envelope and the corner of the book arrived bent. I did not return it just because I can’t stand waste.

A friend loaned me her copy and I loved it so much I had to get my own copy. I'm a beginner and found the instructions easy to follow. Combined with the pictures for reference I've already created some projects I'm proud of!

Was für ein tolles Buch!!! Wunderschöne Stickereien! Die Blumensorten sind leicht zu erkennen und sehen originalgetreu aus, z. B. Hortensien, Fingerhut, Lupinen, Lavendel, Stockrosen, Mohnblumen, Rosen, Blauregen, ... um nur einige zu nennen. Ich bin total begeistert! Das Buch ist zwar auf Englisch, aber es ist alles gut nachzuvollziehen. Ich freu mich schon auf mein erstes Projekt aus diesem Buch!

I wouldn’t say I am heavily into embroidery, but my goodness this book is inspiring. It’s is beautiful. So many projects and I discovered to my delight patterns at the back. This book is suitable from beginner to advanced. Lorna guides you through the tools, threads and fabrics that you need and eventually want. She teaches you different techniques and stitches and even painting onto fabric to enhance your eventual piece's. I am thrilled with my book and would recommend it as a gift for flourishing embroiderers or for those who enjoy the more intense detail Lorna presents in her work. It is a gift that keeps on giving. Wonderful!
