Rev-A-Shelf Heavy Duty Lift System
Let's face it, if you have to dig an appliance out of a cabinet, especially if it is a heavy appliance, you are probably not going to bother. Such has been the case with our Kitchen-Aid unit since it was stored on a back lower shelf. Wanting to do something about that, we started looking for a way to hide the unit in a cabinet, but make it easy to bring out to use. We found this Rev-A-Shelf unit and decided to give it a try.Unfortunately, I have not found a way to upload user pictures of their device, so I will just have to describe what we did. We had a narrow cabinet under the counter that this unit would just fit inside. Actually, we had to notch the sides just a small bit for the shelf to enter and exit the cabinet easily. The unit was fairly straight forward to install, but turned out to be a bit of a pain because we were putting it into a very tight cabinet. That did not leave much room to move around in. Still, it installed easily enough and it works GREAT!!The shelf lifts the mixer out easily and locks into place. The shelf is very stable and the mixer is very steady. When you are done, the unit easily releases and goes back down into the cabinet. Easy enough now that we no longer find excuses NOT to use it!!!!If you have the space to devote to this, I would highly recommend it!

This is very sturdy. Hold the heavy kitchen aid mixer nicely. Very sturdy. Recommend if you don’t want to drag your mixer out all the time.

Works great, but install can be challenging
First off, all of our cabinets have drawers over them. But as others have said, it can be done with a little patience. We had a cabinet that wasn't used that often. It is a 21" wide cabinet which made installation easier (easy access to the inside). Putting in the side supports was fairly easy, though err on the side of minimal backspacing to avoid the arms banging into the opening of the cabinet when coming out or in. The 5 quart mixer fits (sideways) with about an inch of height clearance when putting it away. When I maximized the height of the arm bracket it just barely touches the floor of the cabinet when putting the shelf down. Take your time and it will fit. Depending on your construction skills it can be fun.UPDATE: One thing that I discovered after installing the lift is that the weight of the mixer will throw off the shelf from being level. What was perfectly level unloaded is now tilted down slightly when the mixer is on it. I'm going to have to either reattach it or shim under the shelf to get it level again.

Installed under a working drawer !
The media could not be loaded. First, 1 star deducted because of two significant issues:a) the directions need significant improvement:- inconsistent between what's on the internet and what arrives in the box- lack a number of critical dimensions in the technical drawings; I had to scan it at a high resolution and then using the scale of that drawing, estimate other dimensions that I needed to know- the drawings themselves are too small; I'm not sure if the manufacturer is trying to save paper but those drawings need to be a full page each instead of <1/4- they fail to warn you about critical issues such as corner blocks and hinges in your cabinet, that might get in the way; the video online shows a piece-of-cake installation because the cabinet itself is unfinished and sitting out in the open; of course that is not at all real worldEven the standard installation is not an easy one (mine under a drawer is a lot harder) and (both) would benefit much more detailed instructions and dimensions than are given.(b) the left support, the spring-loaded mechanism that is supposed to pull the latch into the locked position is binding. It does not reliably pull the latch into the locked position. It is a construction flaw that could also cause a significant safety issue by allowing the loaded shelf to fall.I should probably deduct 2 full stars, however they earned a little bit of credit by having a technical person reply within 1 business day to an email with some helpful information. The rest of my review is best understood by viewing the video and the series of pictures. At completion, the lift is working correctly except for the issue noted above, even though it is loaded with a very heavy shelf and a very heavy mixer. The total weight of both combined is a little over 50 lb. You have to adjust the tension setting to account for this of course, but it is working correctly. The soft-close mechanism handles even that much weight. This could be used for other kitchen appliances like a bread-maker, slow-cooker, etc. that might otherwise not be used very often because they hide down in a cabinet.
