No, this cable does not meet the CAT 7 standard. In addition to the number of twists, the CAT 7 standard specifies that each twisted pair is enclosed in foil (as this one is), but all four pairs are also enclosed in a metal braid (S/FTP) or foil (F/FTP). The pictures show that this cable does not have the second level of shielding required by the CAT 7 standard. In addition, CAT 7 cables do not use RJ45 connectors, as this cable does. CAT 7 uses GG45 or TERA connectors.

Is this an STP type CAT 7 ethernet cable?

It says STP, I was a little concerned at first when I got it, but it has out preformed better than any 6 cables I have by far. I really like it being flat and not round as I sit it on top of my baseboards and it stays put after it has been there after 4 months. I do see they have a 8 cat now but not sure I will get it. I love the 7 and have replaced all my old 6 and 6 cat cables
