Strong enough for ultra fishing split rings
I have the normal small split-ring pliers, but they were unsat for ultra split rings for lures for tuna and wahoo. These can handle the extra-strong rings. A good purchase. (( And, yeah, I should learn how to weld solid rings.... ))

Worth it
Used this for 450# split rings with ease. It's cheap, small, and very easy to use

Larger than I needed
I fish inshore and light offshore along the Alabama Gulf Coast. I recently have started experimenting with jigging offshore (Shimano butterfly jigs, Williamson knife jigs, etc). I quickly found myself in need of split ring pliers and these came highly recommend across several fishing forum boards. From a construction and function perspective, these are robust and work as expected. However, these are much too large for the vast majority of tackle I use when bottom / reef fishing in the gulf. And these are way too big for the tackle I use for inshore. If you often target larger species offshore where you are using large tackle and big, robust split rings, I am sure these are for you. For my inshore and light offshore needs, I picked up a smaller pair of Texas Tackle split ring pliers that are much more suited to the size of split rings I use most often. While these were not what I was looking for, they technically did what they were designed to do...and the price is very reasonable. These have only been on the boat with me once and I have noticed that they are quick to rust. If you purchase these, make sure to keep them wiped down with oil after each trip.

For larger sized split rings
These pliers are solid! Definitely a must have for swapping out hooks on large lures.

Great pliers.
They are made for large split rings. For this purpose. The are a very good plier.

Difficult to use, won't stay shut
These pliers aren't the easiest to work with small rings for fishing. For larger key rings they work okay. They don't come with a latch to keep closed which means they take up way too much space in your pocket or tackle box. Mine has already started to rust despite keeping oiled. Do not recommend.

P-Line Split Ring Pliers (6.5inch)
This is a more than adequate work bench tool. The grip is comfortable and doesn't slip and the handle material doesn't look or feel cheap for being a pretty affordable tool. The only caveat is that this plier is really made for the heavier duty x2,x3.x4 split rings and also at the 65 lb class and up. The tooth at the end of the plier that opens the split ring is much wider than other split ring pliers.I have tested on x2 - 65lb rings and up with no problems. If you need pliers to open smaller and lighter split rings, I would suggest another tool such as the Texas Tackle split ring pliers.

Does the job with the heaviest GT type of split rings

Only good for really big rings
Simply did not work for me.The tips of the player are too far from each other to work with wire diameters below 2-3mm
