Sauder Heritage Hill Executive Desk, Classic Cherry finish

This is a fabulous desk and is well worth the price! The look of the desk is awesome and others will compliment you many times over for the purchase of it. Here are a few things to keep in mind: (1) The desk is heavy to have the delivery people to put it where it will be assembled (2) It is important to put the desk pieces and screws in alphabetical order (3) Have 2 people for assembly (4) Follow drawings closely (5) Drawer handles must face you (6) Assemble and insert drawers correctly (7) Have drill AND screwdriver handy (8) There is a small, black (almost triangular) drawer release lever on the metal rods of BOTH sides of drawers if you've put a drawer in the wrong drawer slot. Press BOTH release levers up or down and pull out the drawer (9) If a drawer won't go in, it most likely means that you have assembled the drawer backwards. You can easily correct this. I like this purchase and will highly recommend it!!.

I am very happy with this desk. I have had it for about a year now and have no problems with it. It looks great, it is very sturdy, and it was easy to assemble.

I had to replace a Sauder desk due to water damage. It was a pain to assemble, but I new that. All in all, a good value for your money. The assembled desk looks fabulous. I would like to suggest that the manufacturer come uo with adjustable legs for the desk, because the parsticle board it is made from will not stand any water damage. Nowing this, I fastened 2x4 boards to the inside of the uprights and put adjustable legs on them. Now a water leak in the house will not destroy a desk that I put a lot of hours into putting it together,

Good desk but pay service to assemble it. It takes a long time to assemble.

Of all the furniture I've put together over the years, this one had me the most apprehensive, mainly because it's the biggest with the most parts. It's also the first Sauder product I've bought, so in spite of the positive reviews on their other products, I wasn't sure. As my star rating shows, my worries were unfounded. The desk came in two boxes due to it's size and weight - this is close to 200 lbs of furniture so it's solid. The parts in the box were well laid out and protected, and there were no scratches or cracks. For the most part, the pieces of lumber were numbered for easy identification, but for some reason a few weren't. By process of elimination, it was easy to figure out what was what, and the hardware was also pretty easy to manage - in spite of there being over 130 screws of 11 different sizes, it wasn't bad at all. It says all you'll need is a screw driver and a hammer, but I also used a rubber mallet a few times and would recommend one. Of all the furniture I've put together, this piece had the best instructions. Very well written and illustrated, and easy to follow. There were a few steps when putting the file drawers together that I had to intuitively figure things out, but it was nothing major. Though I put this together by myself, I would recommend having someone help, if for no other step than when you have to flip it right-side up. Overall it took me almost six hours to finish. I've been using the finished product for a week now and am very pleased. It's looks great and has a very solid feel. The drawers slide out well and are smooth, and the edges where pieces meet are flush. If there was one quibble I have it would be the keyboard drawer - when you flip open the front, it doesn't slide out of the way, which puts me further from the keyboard than I prefer. Still, an excellent value, and I've since ordered a Sauder bookcase to go with it.

The engineered wood desk had poor quality. The drawers are unsteady. The desk is not painted. The very thin (less than 1 mm) paper is glued to its surface, it is easily scratched and torn. Due to its bad quality the desk is obviously overpriced.

Love the woodwork

Bought this desk and am very happy with the purchase. Worth it to order from amazon and have it delivered; this desk is HEAVY. Desk came well packaged; surrounded with styrofoam and all the outer "pretty" peaces facing in so any shipping damage occurred to unseen parts. I unpacked desk and all parts were there and NO damage d/t excellent packaging (I wish other manufacturers would take notice). The directions were well written, easy to understand, and assembly went off without a problem. Desk is beautiful and meets all my needs.

I had to wait for a while for it to be delivered but, it was well worth the wait.Its a really nice piece of furniture, I was a little wary about putting it together so I asked a friend of my sons to do it. It only took him 2 1/2 hrs and he was most impressed with the building instructions .He said that they were very straight forward and who ever wrote them has a good sense of humor. He even had a snack when he was told to :)

I got this desk on sale, so I have to be straight up front about that. For a $350 desk, this thing is excellent. Its heavy, big, and sturdy. The instructions top notch. I put this together myself in about 2 hours, farting around. As in, I didn't rush it, just took my time. Ikea could learn a thing or two from Sauder on this. Finish seems to be holding up well, no scuffs et. What I thought was a nice touch, touch up paint comes with it, and little usb thumb drive size. Drawers feel strong and solid. Slides perfect, with no sagging. Boxing and shipping was perfect, nicely protected, which was my biggest fear. Could you imagine trying to rebox this thing up to send back? Overall, you can't go wrong with this.

The instructions were very clear and it was relatively easy to assemble with 2 people.

I have dealt with Sauder for a long time and like every other product I rate Sauder AAA. Everything went perfectly. Instructions were super ,never confusing . Parts fit was unbelievably accurate. Beautiful desk. The only thing that didn't was the furniture touchup Pen. It was completely dry. Maybe if they read this they will send me a new pen.
