Superior Tool 17660 6-In-1 Swaging Tool

I saw this Swaging Tool - # 17660 6-In-1 by Superior Tool, while looking at other tools on Amazon. This was not a real purchase needed for a specific job, rather I regularly find a need to have a swag to probe the inside of a piece of tubing, 1/4" ID through 3/4" ID and found that this would fill that need. At @ 5.3" (@13.6mm) and 5 oz. (@ 141 gr.) it is small enough to put about anywhere for storage. I have it now in a Pencil box upright where I can see it easily to find, nice as I have a tendency to loose small items in the workbench area and garage, both which are by most standards, very messy and disorganized. For copper pipe under 3/4" it is close to fitting inside at the swag shoulder, it is a little small and would go inside the pipe if tapped one too many times and would be hard to remove as the remaining swaging tool is only about 3/4" long past this last shoulder. for really small tubing, the small end is about 0.191" and would go inside 1/4" ID to then swag on the second shoulder. It has a bright finish, is a ferrous steel, as a magnet is attracted to it and at a price of only $12.60 with free delivery with free shipping for Prime Members of Amazon, it is a fairly low price. I like it.

This is a well made tool. It has the added benefit of NOT being a single sized unit in that the singles are so easily lost and out of sight when needed, this one is larger, and will be easier to find when needed. One added benefit is that it costs quite a bit less for this one multi size tool rather than a set of singles. I do not think that you will be disappointed in the use of it. Enjoy.

Among the various swaging tools I have bought. many of which are much higher-priced, I ended up using only this tool. It works and is very easy to use.

I love it ! It doesn't take up much space in my tool pack and with a little lubricant it works great !

Item showed up on time and appears to be well made. Great swaging tool for occasional use and seems to work just fine on copper tubing 3/8" and larger. Had trouble trying to swage smaller diameter tubing, either due to my technique or trying to do it too quickly.

The metal was a little too soft.

You need a holder the size of the tubing you're going to use this on. You can't hold it in your hands. If you have a flaring tool the clamp for that will work. This tool is good and will do the job.

I tried hammering it into some 3/8" OD flex copper pipe, but it bent where it was clamped. But I used it very successfully by oiling the tool and pressing it in using a 50-ton shop press (overkill I know, but great control). Held by the clamp of a flaring tool in both scenarios.
