So happy my Brita is here
I have used Brita since Brita was first put on the market. I love the pitchers. The water always taste better and is better than out of the tap. To me, it is even better than most bottled waters. We had a Culligan water full house water filtration in our home. No comparison. Seriously. It is important to me that fluoride remains in the water. The in home unit was expensive as you had to buy salt all of the time. If you flushed your toilet it was with softened water...yet it used up salt. Anyhow, we have had the best results with Brita. We stopped using our in home filtration as the taste of the Brita water was superior. Granted the in home softened our water, too, but I much prefer good drinking water. It is so easy to use the Brita. The company stands behind their products. You can trust the name. Obviously, I am sold on this one. We will be customers for life. They earned our loyalty. No regrets on this purchase. Just so you know this product is well made and very durable. The company takes pride in their work and with their customer's satisfaction. I bought the black and I love it. Comes apart for easily cleaning and washes up easily and like new. The filters out last the Zero pitcher for sure. I know that as my daughter in law has one and the filters need changed about every two weeks on hers. That gets expensive.

Brita is GREAT to work with!
We bought this pitcher less than a month ago, and my husband (always blame the husband) knocked it off the counter--twice. The first time there was no damage at all, and I let him live. The second time the plastic insert that holds the filter broke. I went online to see if I could order a replacement part, and read the Brita guarantee, which you should see in full."Although built to last, Brita® products can crack or break due to a variety of unfortunate circumstances. We stand by our products and offer both a 30-day, unconditional, 100% money-back guarantee and a 1-year warranty in case your Brita gets damaged. Your satisfaction is important to us, whether or not you are within the warranty period. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact us via this page or call 1-800-24-BRITA for support."I thought to myself, "Well, this certainly was an unfortunate circumstance"--we'd had it less than a month. So I didn't hesitate. But I expected to pay for the replacement part, since this was definitely no fault of the poor pitcher itself, which was sturdy enough to stand up to the first assault. But if anyone would have a replacement part, surely Brita would. So I called, and to my surprise, the nice lady not only offered a replacement part, despite the fact that we broke it ourselves, but insisted on sending us a whole new pitcher! I was surprised and delighted. And yes...Hubby will still be allowed in the kitchen. His skill in cooking and cleaning up is worth any number of broken pitchers. :-)As for the design itself, which is irrelevant to this story, I would suggest one minor change. Our old Brita pitcher was narrower, closer to the design of the five cup pitcher Brita sells now, but it also held ten cups. And because it was less rounded and bulgy, I could find a place for it on almost any available countertop. Space is at a premium in this kitchen, we have an older house, and the is no island from which to work, so the pitcher has to compete with various small appliances on the countertops, and often the only place I have available for it is propped on the back of the sink. The new pitcher, the 10 cup Everyday model, is much less compact in spite of holding the same amount. I would like Brita to design a ten cup pitcher similar to the older model which has been discontinued. It was more rectangular, and fit into narrower spaces than the new one, which has an oval shape.A few days later: Today I received not one, but TWO pitchers from Brita...one as a replacement, the other, the explanatory note said, as a thank you for the feedback I sent. Either they fear my husband will destroy another one, or these are REALLY nice people. :-)

What saddast designed this lid??
I'd give this 5 stars if it didn't have such a flimsy and stupid lid. It's a great pitcher and water tastes good. It holds plenty and only changing the filter twice a year is appealing to me. It's worth it at the price I paid. My only complaint is the lid. It's thin and feels like it could crack after taking it off several dozen times, if I'm not careful. I haven't yet figured out how the damn thing is supposed to be taken on and off properly. I'm not ruling out that I'm just being stupid, but for the life of me I don't see how it's meant to seal back into place after refilling. I've tried straight down, back first, front first and either side first. It never just "clicks" back in place or one side will be slightly raised. It makes a horrible plastic crackling sound when I push down. On in all, it's a minor complaint. Buy the thing. It's worth it.
