Products like this one are really useful to build once in a while so you can appreciate how good Lego really is. The instructions are really frustrating, our 8yr old who can confidently build technic sets got so frustrated that I had to step in and carefully backtrack. The final build is incredibly flimsy, and the parts are made from cheap and brittle polystyrene (Lego is ABS plastic).

This looks great but we'll never know as there are missing pieces. I tried to get a replacement but was told it wasn't possible. The only option was to get a refund and repurchase. However, I wasn't told it had increased in price and that was the reason why it couldn't be replaced. I now have a little girl who is upset her present can't be built.

I give this 3 stars because of the difficulties my husband had to put this together. This is definitely not for 8 year old children to build. I bought this and my husband spent a good 3 days - out of frustration because of the small parts and parts not fitting 100%. I can't see how would any 10 year old get to put this together. Any child between 8-12 will def give up after a few minutes. Finally, it's together and it's a great thing for kids, but really not the age group you claim to put it together.

Different feel and style to Lego. It’s a bit like plastic Meccano, if you’re old enough? It requires a bit of thinking about as you assemble. The instructions are ok but not perfect. But very satisfying when done.

After buying and putting together their shuttle model, which was enjoyable and the end model looks great, I wanted to give this model a go. The instructions are not very clear and could do with some work. The process is also very fiddly. Overall the model doesn't look that great either. However, the biggest issue is that when making the first model, the Lab-space explorer, at the last stage the pieces do not fit together correct or display as is shown. I have been trying to fix this for a bit, wondering whether it was user fault, however this part of the model seems poorly designed. At £10 it is relatively low cost, but at the very least I would expect the model to fit together correctly.

Great gift for an 8 year old who loves space and loves to fiddle. He built it well, not too quickly, functional and good quality, definitely fit for purpose and age range
