I purchased with the primary use a general pinpointer for metal detecting on land with the bonus of use whilst at the beach investigating rock pools using add on coil

Not used this yet but was a well received gift

having had this detector now for 6 months, its important for divers to note, Yes its waterproof to 60mtrs, but around the 15-18mtr mark, it begins to be sporadic in work. You are supposed to isolate the buttons for diving, which i do, but it randomly switches off at this level, making the device pretty useless. Ive used it lots in 10-12mtrs without issue, but much deeper and its very poor. Id not buy another! Too late now for me to return it

Picks up the steel on your steel toe capped boots, not so good at the buried metal though!

doent pick up some of the things my garrett propointer at does, slightly disappointed.

First day out with it in La Jolla Cove and found about $30 worth of lead weight between the 4lb weight I dug up and the 6oz triangle snag claw weight and also found 2 snorkels(one was broken so I threw it out) and a mask using my eyeballs. One thing I did notice is, when trying to switch to dive mode, it can be a bit tricky if doing it while in the water on the surface with gloves on, also the unit must be flipped so the underside is facing up and is very horizontal or it may resist going into dive mode, probably way easier to do before entering the water with no gloves on and just deal with it beeping like crazy whenever it senses your gear or try to hold it belly up to disable the metal detection until you can get good and submerged and outstretch it away from you. Overall thrilled with the purchase, spent 4hrs hours in the shallows with 2 steelhp 133 tanks around 10-15ft deep and got the items in the pic will be fun to take to the beach and configure an arm extension with some waterproof gorilla tape or something since they dont seem to make one for it from what the manuf says. Works on anything metal with 6-8in as advertised, nice and sensitive, very few false positives or mineralized rock readings. I noticed when the unit arrived the o-ring had almost 0 lube on it so I used some camera o-ring lube, same stuff I use on my 9000F SeaLife lights and gopros and re-lubed it and should stay nice and sealed and just leave it that way for cleaning and then plan on only taking apart when absolutely necessary or to inspect the o-ring integrity. Also there isn't an attachment for it but you can make one using an arm cuff cane as seen in the picture using a cane, a 2in pvc adapter and a 4in bolt. 3rd photo is of my 3rd beach day with it, found about $20-30 worth of fishing weights.
