Insert Praise Hand Emojis Here!!! WORKS Like a Charm!!!
The Differin brand is my go-to miracle product for adult acne and pigmentation issues. I’ve tried everything.... but Differin has never failed me; it is a simple routine and wow does it truly work on my tan/mixed race (Dutch and African American) skin. I am so over the expensive Ulta and Sephora shopping sprees attempting to find the perfect cleanser, acid, moisturizer, peel, mask, and all that other nonsense. Time to get back to the basics. I have been using the differin gel adapalene as well as the dark spot serum for two years now and they have been miracle workers. I do use them together on a daily basis and have had ZERO issues with my sensitive skin.I wash my face at night with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I then put the differin gel on, immediately followed by the dark spot serum. I did read somewhere that the serum is even more effective when used with the gel. Please research, you will find that same advice! So as my final step in my nighttime routine, I finish with a thick moisturizer (Dermalogica Super Rich Repair). In the morning, I gently wash my face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, then follow with just the dark spot serum, followed by Murad’s spf 45 moisturizer (oil and shine control which I absolutely love). Then I’ll either begin my makeup routine or, nowadays with Covid-masks saving me a ton of time.... I’ll just leave my skin as-is and wear my mask as I go on about my day.Guys I’m telling you, this regimen works beautifully for my late 30s early 40s skin (lol, I won’t pin point my age but my skin is “mature” I suppose.....!) My skin is smooth, bump-free, not a wrinkle in sight, and I feel so relieved and confident that I have this simple regimen that I can depend on. Spots are fading rapidly, sooooo thankful.Everyone’s skin is different but when I ventured away from Differin at one point (after it had totally cleared my skin to perfection), I began using trendy high-end brands from Sephora. For what? I don’t know! Sheer boredom! Why’d I do that to myself! Leave well-enough alone..... But nope, I wanted to mess with Drunk Elephants and Gross this and Sunday that. Just wasting money for no reason. Messed my skin up doing so, too.I went back to my Differin regimen and I promise you, within the first week I was doing a whole Praise Dance with JOY.... my skin was being corrected right before my eyes. I could truly see the Differince (ha!! Couldn’t resist)Good luck y’all :-)

Works quickly without side effects on hyperpigmentation
Have only used this once per night for 5 days and have already seen a big difference. The comparison photos aren’t the best but I had hyper pigmentation on my face, a spot that was so dark it almost looked like a mole in some lighting. Took about 5 years for it to get as dark as it was. Within 5 days it’s already so light that I can only see it in certain lighting. These photos were taken under fluorescent lights so they show everything. Not sure if I’ll have to keep using it to keep these results but pretty amazed that it’s gotten this light so quickly. So for the price you pay this is obviously a great deal. I only used it on this single spot, not on my entire face so that’s all I can speak to but couldn’t be happier to have gotten rid of it.I’m a middle aged male with a history of acne if that helps anyone who is considering using this. Do not currently use any other face products except benzoyl peroxide as spot treatment for acne.As some people have mentioned, the smell isn’t very pleasant. It reminds me of cheap floral perfume and even a spot this small I could smell it after going to bed. (I only applied this stuff after washing my face before bed.) But for the results the smell is fine and certainly bearable. Just not pleasant exactly, especially as a male.Again, the photos aren’t the best but I can honestly say that at one point this evening I couldn’t quickly locate the spot to add the gel. Before it was the first thing I noticed when I looked in the mirror.Still visible in some lighting but I’m hoping it will continue to fade.Way cheaper than a trip to the dermatologist, no side effects, quick results. Not sure what else someone could ask for.If you have hyperpigmentation, give it a try.I did NOT receive any incentives to post this review and paid for the product myself. It is an honest experience, simply posting to help others if they’re on the fence about trying it.Update, July 2: the spot is gone completely. I can’t even find the area where it was well enough to continue using the product on it.So yeah, this stuff works. I’m adding a final photo to show where the discoloration mark was just 6 weeks ago. That will be the last picture without any circle.
