Great concept and fun projects
Love the idea of this book and love most of the projects. I have made three or four projects from the book using thrifted sweaters, but have to say that the patchwork blanket took $80 worth of Salvation Army sweaters to get enough felted wool to make the blanket out of. I love the re-purposing angle, I just hoped the materials necessary to execute the projects would cost a bit less than going to the fabric store. Fun concept with solid, achievable projects.

Because we love thrifting and repurposing so much...
This is a great book for me AND my kids (daughter 11 and son 6), who both started thrifting with me at an early age. The reason: there are several great instructional projects for them! My son handsews and could easily make the scarf on the cover and the coasters and trivet. My daughter has just learned to machine sew... the pillowcase skirt and dress, and the organic baby quilt and washies are fairly simple yet give great results. They could easily collaborate on the applique pillows and the produce bags (they could even cut veggies to use for stamping). All in all this is one fantastic book!

Interesting Book
Fun to read with some nice projects. Instructions are sketchy on some projects so probably not for someone brand new to sewing, but with a practical eye it should be fairly easy to use. There must be some places where you can buy used cashmere sweaters for a good price as I keep seeing ideas for using them, but not where I live! Book does get you into the repurposing mood.

A really good book!
I must admit I collect sewing books and was some what skeptical about this book. But to be honest I really really like. the water bottle bag and few other project make the book worth it.Although, I wished it had more projects. I have bought most of the sewing books available through amazon and has sent back a bunch, i only keep what is really worth. This one made the cut.

Betz White should change her last name to Green.
Betz is an inpiration to me and she kept the bar high on this, her latest book. She continually comes up with cheerful creations that make you want to run to a thrift shop in search of goods to revamp. Like delicious ripe fruit her latest book is fresh without being fake sugar sweet. Items you really want to use or give as gifts rather than something you labor over and then put in the closet. You will be look at old materials in a whole new way.

Good idea and well presented with patters.
Recycling and up-cycling both sweaters into fun creative projects, many still clothes and clothing related. Good ideas for a moderately skilled sewer.

Useful and lovely items
I first viewed this book at the public library. I was impressed enough to want to own a copy myself. The projects are lovely to look at and easy to make. I am an experienced sewer and can work thru a pattern.

Lovely book
Bought for my daughter, I’m 67 so a bit like teaching your grandmother how to suck eggs but my daughter loves it.

Great ideas and good direction.
Money and environment conscious ideas, many good links and good variety of ideas. Have several books on this theme but this is the best yet, applicable to all levels and ages too.

A truly amazing book with lots of interesting quotes and pictures. I use this at school as I am a Textiles teacher and it is well worth the money.

carino ma alla fine i progetti utili sono pochi
mi ispirava molto la filosofia ma alla fine i progetti utili (che a mio avviso sarebbero utili ) sono pochi non ho realizzato ancora nulla degli esempi proposti.
