Yoshihiro Natural Magnolia Wood Saya Cover Blade Protector for Nakiri (165mm) 6.5in

Amazing fit and finish. Fits my knife perfectly

Wanted a magnolia Saya for a Nakiri knife recently purchased from Japan. This Saya fits well and will keep the knife edge from rusting. Also protects the knife from contact damage.

it's a good protective knife cover/sheath, the only issue is that the little plastic piece gets wedged in a little bit too tightly. i usually end up having to "hammer" it out with something else or tapping it on the counteri like to have this since i don't want one of those knife blocks and i'm weary of those magnetic strips since we have a cat that likes to jump up on counters and such. so being able to have a sheath like this to store in a drawer is way better.

Not sure what all to say but it is well made, looks classy, and offers the highest practical levels of protection. It is also more satisfying to use than cheaper blade protectors.

I have the Shun 6.5" classic nakiri, and unfortunately Shun doesn't seem to sell a saya for it. I thought maybe this one from Yoshihiro would fit, as the measurements are almost identical. Wah-wah. It went in about 4" and would go no further. I can say just from handling the saya and seeing it in person that this is a quality product and was exactly what I was hoping would work, but, as the description says, may not fit other knives. Figured I would post this for other people wondering if it will fit Shun.

I own a Yoshihiro nakiri and this saya fits perfectly. The lacquer finish looks really nice with my knife's mahogany handle. The inside of the saya isn't lacquered, and that's a good thing because the interior natural wood finish is soft enough that it shouldn't chip the knife blade. The pin fits quite snugly and stays in the holes. The snug fit makes it easy to push the pin out and remove the saya, without having the pin just fly out and land on the floor somewhere.I considered trying a different company's knife cover, but I'm glad I chose this one instead—especially since it's from the same folks who made my knife.

Perfect, safe storage for my Nakiri knife.
