Works well!
The media could not be loaded. It works well, looks cool, and easy to put together. Really fun to watch.

Our favorite Estes rocket. Very customizable. Eight ways to fly.
This is a two stage rocket with a payload bay and glider. You can configure it as a single stage by itself, single stage with a payload, single stage with the glider. or single stage with payload and glider. You can also configure it as a double stage by itself, with a payload, with the glider and with a payload and glider.Make sure you have a wide open area before you launch. My 12 y/o rocket pilot advises you to customize the rocket to the area you are launching it from. When we launched it with two stages it landed almost 1000' feet away from our launch pad. Based on our homebuilt Arduino altimeter, we saw flights of about 200' hundred feet on a single stage with B4-4 with a payload and a glider. It flew to about 500' with a C6-0 and B6-6. Every two stage launch of ours and every launch I've seen of this rocket on youtube shows this rocket pitching over and traveling a long distance horizontally after the second stage ignition. We thinks this is due to the effect of the glider on the flight dynamics. It's still our favorite Estes rocket to date. An excellent value for the price.

Be carful
I love this rocket, but, it surtove exploded. There is a lot of parachute difficulties and because it is a two stager it goes so high that if parachute doesn’t deploy, very squished rocket. Woops. It is also very easy to lose the glider. I lost mine first time and you can’t get a new one without buying the rocket again. The payload section is awesome though. If you are willing to have a high matinece rocket, this is the rocket for you.

Worst rocket kit ever!!!
Don’t bother trying this rocket! It is shipped in the manufacturer’s plastic bag, with no protection. The body of the rocket is wax-coated paper. It does not hold its shape! The fins are wood and the paper tube can barely support the weight of them. The instructions? Hah! Good luck trying to figure those out! If you have done many Estes rockets, some things are just common knowledge, but the instructions for this rocket and the glider are just an exercise in frustration. There are two sets of fins, if you look at the pictures, you can figure out which way they go, however, the wax paper tube is so out of round that even using an Estes fin jig will not set these fins 90 degrees from each other. The joint that joins the upper and lower rockets is impossible to fit without sanding it down to the cardboard. The decals will not adher ... noticed a manufacturing date of 2019, so perhaps sitting in the bag for 4 years is part of the problem. I could go on and on. If the kid didn’t need this for his rocketry badge in a few days … I would toss it on the fire pit! You can make a better rocket with toilet paper and paper towel tubes!!!!!

Doesn't require larger launch rod!
Fun build for kids and adult alike. Description wrong does not need an e pad the regular pad works.

Estes needs better QC on the line
Poor quality control. One sheet of balsa had a full-width gouge or indentation through several parts.

Fun build!
Great build with grandsons. Have them hooked like I was in the 70's.
