I just installed this to regulate an inground pool autofill water line.The Good:The actual installation only took a few minutes - unscrew the old float, wrap teflon tape around the new float's threads, screw it in and adjust the float position with the wingnut.The Bad:The unit I received came with a bolt and wingnut with defective threading. Right out of the package, I attempted to loosen the wingnut by hand, which I couldn't, and just assumed it was over tightened at the factory. I used pliers to loosen it. I ended up having to use the pliers to completely remove the wingnut from the bolt, since it never started to turn freely by hand. Once apart, I could feel the bolt threads were very rough so using a magnifying glass I had to file down the extra metal slag that was stuck to the bolt threads. Then, I had to use a tap to straighten out the wingnut threads, since those threads were also not smooth.Maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad one. I don't know.....Suggest the mfg stop using cheap (probably chinese made steel) hardware to save a few pennies, or get some better quality control measures in place, because the POINT of me buying this particular float switch was for the supposed ease of adjusting the float level with the large wingnut BY HAND and not having to try and get a bulky wrench down in the small round pit where the float switch lives.Jury is still out on whether the float switch shuts off the water properly since I only just installed it. After 24hrs so far so good. I'll assume for this review it will function properly, and I will update the review if it does not.

I needed to replace the valve and float in my swimming pool's automatic filler, and this looked like it might fit, so I took a chance on it. The float clears the opposite wall of the filler chamber. This valve type is an improvement over my last valve since this one is more easily adjusted.Unfortunately, the problem that persisted with my last valve was still present. The valve tended to reach a sympathetic frequency with the wave created in the chamber by the release of water from the valve. That is, the valve would open and spray water into the chamber, the sudden spray would create a wave that would close and reopen the valve, and the valve would open a little wider and spray a little harder, creating a bigger wave that opened the valve a little wider, and so on, resulting in a chuga-chuga-chuga noise at the filler and pulsing water flow from faucets in the house.I fixed the problem by placing a split rubber washer on the arm of the valve. This diverted the spray enough to prevent the oscillation from starting.

I have tried to find a float valve at my local pool supply stores that fits - to no avail. This one has the longer threaded area and works great. Happy to have the auto fill working again.

Easy to install and seems to be working just fine for the week that its been in my pool. My initial purchase was more expensive and leaked so I was especially glad to find a cheaper item that did the job as it should.

I may be using this for something it is not intended, automatic pool filler from normal pressure water line. The pressure is too high to have a well defined shut-off line, it tends to go too high and too low. I fixed this by retrofitting a toilet tank float to replace the small float. Works fine now.

I have a saltwater pool and an SWG to generate chlorine. My old metal leveler corroded and broke, I bought this because other reviews had recommended it for salt pools. It works like a charm! It was easy to install and easy to set the desired water level.A great piece of kit!

I purchased this as an identical match for the one that had cracked so there were no surprises.

Perfect replacement for my outdoor fountain level control. Not a common size and style of float so I was happy to find it and have it fit the threads on the float chamber. NOTE: It is very important that you get the float with the right diameter, thread size and male/female for your situation. Save disappointment and take the time to consult with pipe thread size charts available on the Internet.
