A must have for country life!
This has been a surprisingly necessary tool for the homestead. It is lightweight but very effective. Our homestead is located on an old home place and apparently every time it rains, a new crop of rusty nails rises to the top of the ground. When you drag it across the driveway, you can hear little pings of the metal hitting the magnet. When you're ready to clean it, you pull the handle and it releases the magnet and all of the debris comes off very easily. It's a great and handy tool.

Excellent Product - Easy to Use and Effective
Bought this after a large house project to get sharp construction debris up from the yard/driveway so that kids can safely play and nothing by ends up in our tires. Works great, especially for the price point. Relatively easy to use in the yard - got caught in a couple rough spots but that’s to be expected for the size. Picked up and held onto large nails, screws, etc. while pushing even over bumps/yard debris. Highly recommend!

What You'd Expect
Very easy to assemble, and works like a charm rolling around on flat ground to pickup loose metal debris. It does work in the lawn to pick up nails, however if yoi tend to cut and leave your grass higher it does have trouble maneuvering, maybe a higher wheel coukd help? Overall, it's what you'd expect, and isn't cheap feeling. It does have a nice hold capacity with the width and the magnetic strength is strong.

Great for after roofing work
I bought this as I was getting my roof replaced. It worked great. I cut the lawn then used this on the grass. Found about 30 roofing nails that I probably would have stepped on. Worked great in the grass. Highly recommend

Very impressed
We had a deck built and were worried about the left over screws. This pulled up more than we even knew we would find. Found the big and the small. It found screws from when the original deck was built. Super impressed. Obviously not the most sturdy thing I’ve ever used but stayed together and worked great.

Average in Quality and Reliability
If you get your home or garage roof replaced you need a magnetic sweeper. Contractors do not have the time to look for nails, etc. - they are running to the next job. Tire repair whether car, truck, lawn tractor, ATV, etc., is not cheap ($30 on average) and several nails will completely ruin a tire. I have not had any issues with the bolt that secures the handle as others have claimed, but that's easily remedied by drilling a hole through the handle and inserting a bolt. The magnet is strong enough to pick up roofing nails, roofing staples, and small fasteners as long as they are steel - magnets cannot pick up aluminum. I have found that the sweeper does a better and easier job by pulling instead of pushing. Just walk causally and do not force the magnet over clumps of grass. When the magnet picks up a nail you'll hear a distinctive "clink" on the housing. I stop and take the nails off of the magnet because thick or tall grass could dislodge the nails from the magnet. I do agree with others that the magnet release handle is very clunky and you could release items picked up by accident if you aren't careful. I secured the release handle so it doesn't move (I'll remove nails, etc., from magnet by hand). What I do not like is the fact that the sweeper did not come with washers for the wheels - you secure the wheels with a single nut and have to adjust the tightness. The only other issue is I wish the magnet had a height adjustment instead of relying on wheel height. The writeup states the sweeper has adjustable clearance space ranging from 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches - IT DOES NOT. I have found that the sweeper does a good job on short grass, on level gravel, and on concrete (it excels on concrete floors) but it has difficulty in tall grass or gravel driveways with dips and bumps. All in all it will work for you once you get used to it's short comings - and it's better than paying for tire repair. I have used several magnetic sweepers and none are perfect. You'll have to run this sweeper over the area several times to pick up everything. I give this sweeper three stars because it is average in quality and reliability.
