Amazing product, until it started to leak (revised)
I've had this hydration pack since the beginning of summer, and I bought it to train for a marathon. I would love to give this a perfect review, and I would've if the pack didn't leak after only 10 or so uses. The pack itself is great--the design is perfect for running. As others have noted, if you wear it on your lower back you can hear the water jiggle but the pack itself doesn't shift or chaff. After a short period of time I noticed the pack was leaking water slowly. A pinhole sized hole formed in the top of the water reservoir where the plastic creases when the pack is near empty. I used the company's contact form on their website to inquire about product warranties of if they could advise a patch situation, but it's been a few weeks and I haven't received a response. Of course, they do sell a replacement for the entire pouch and tubing, which is close to $20. I bought this pack over the Camelbak models, not only for the price, but because the reviews for this pack were great and looked like it would work for my summer training needs. Also the bottle versions of this type of belt look a little clunky. However, after the lack of response from the company and the cost to replace the reservoir it's nearly met the price of the Camelbak model. So maybe just save your money and look elsewhere. I've resorted to just carrying a water bottle and making sure my long run routes have water fountains available.****Update: so I rated this product much lower upon my initial review due to the lack of response for the issue from the company's website contact form. I am able to revise this review because I was contacted by the company and was sent what I thought would just be a new reservoir bladders and bite valves. They also included a whole new pack. I was told the delay in response was due to a system error in getting messages from the website. I'm happy to try out the new bladders--I wanted so much to rate this product this way the first time!

It's great for the price
This is a great pack. My one problem with it was if I filled it with as much water as it could hold I had a tiny bit of leaking near the bottom/front (my stuff inside didn't get wet though)wile I walked/ran causing the occasional drip down the back of my leg. It was just enough to annoy me without being so much that it wasn't worth having.

Perfect for mid-long runs & excellent costumer service !
I really like the Sidestream ! Its perfect for long runs, it has enough liquid capacity, it leaves the upper and mid back free for ventilation and free of the burden of having something tight around your chest. No bouncing at all. The tube it's long enough for me (6 foot), with out need to bend the neck to drink from it, but it might be a bit short for taller persons. The pockets are enough for a small snack (protein bar), keys and maybe your cellphone. Cleaning the reservoir is not a big deal. It's really a great product, the quality its good and the experience of using it's even better. Once you try it you won't go back to holding bottles in your hands or bouncing bags around your torax.By the way ... Mazama costumer service it's absolutely fantastic ! I initially received a "defective" product when I purchased this trough Amazon. Apparently someone had bought this, tried it with liquid, and end up returning it to Amazon, for some reason they re-stock it, and I end up receiving the reservoir with some water inside, with already fungus in the valve. I contacted directly Mazama, told them what I had received, attached some photos and in less than a day they have contacted me and apologies for the crapy incident, in about a week I had a new Sidestream plus an extra Mazama product of my choice.Great job Mazama !

Works very well
I do like this a lot. Same suggestion as Ken, wear it in the small of your back and you barely notice it is there. No sloshing or bouncing. I emptied it during an hour and half run, but I don't think I got it quite full to capacity, and had some air space in it. I am 6' tall and only wish was the hose to be a bit longer. I had to duck my head a bit to drink, but I still prefer it much better than a bottle or a full back style pack. It is the perfect length for my 5'4" wife.

Not great
The size is great but I've run into a couple of problems. First, the fill opening is too small to easily add ice. Secondly, after a month of use, the tube that pulls out now kinks easily, which cuts off the flow of liquid. I'd return it if I could but I missed the window.

Nice product
The hydration pack is actually a really nice product, has good quality and works well. It’s just important to know some things about the product as this might not be for everyone.- The bag is large, so if it’s intended for running it can get a little bulky on the back. It doesn’t bounce much so that is actually nice.- Bag is or at least doesn’t look insulated. I have filled the pack with fridge cold water and running in 90 plus degree weather it wouldn’t last more than 10 minutes before it gets warm.- There’s not much room in the bag for additional items in the bag, at most a cellphone. Items might fit in the water compartment but if too tight the tube will have issues retracting.I have used the product and felt comfortable with it. Just believe it is important to note it’s limitations as it might not be the perfect product for everyone.

Not for me
Nice product but the spout got a little annoying during my run. It kept hitting my arm. The weight of the pack was distracting as well. I found myself drinking the water just to make the pack lighter. Might work for others just not for me.I got use to running with minimal items.
