Lowered Engine Temp from Apprx 210 to 190 with typical driving
Based on mechanic's recommendation, I swapped the stock 195 thermostat for this 160. It's cool that it is engineered to remain open if engine overheats. So far, I have notice that the temp stays lower with normal driving conditions on my 2000 Cherokee XJ 4.0. Pulling a trailer in the heat of the day it climbs back to around 210 (where it was all the time before the swap) but that is likely a function of the radiator and water pump flow rates. All in all I am glad I swapped this thermostat to the lower temp. I live in Virginia - climate not too cold in winter.

Run away fast.
I have had a somewhat disappointing experience with the MotoRad thermostat. This particular model was actually the third one that I purchased. I installed this one in my classic car, and it seemed to work for approximately three weeks, but unfortunately, it did not function properly. The other two thermostats I purchased were for my newer vehicles, and they both experienced the same issue, resulting in overheating. I would kindly advise against purchasing this product. The company seems to have issues with quality control. In terms of value for the money, it's a rather dispensable investment. The installation process was straightforward.
