Not super sturdy, but replaced another brand that snapped minutes after being installed. This was been working flawlessly for a few weeks on a kids 24" bike.

Best bike kickstand I ever have! No tool installation in 3 minutes. light, firm, easy to adjust high with “click” sound. Perfect for bikes which have no place to mount center mount or side mount. If you do not want to make scratch on the frame, use this one.

I bought two different QR (quick release) style kickstands to compare. One was half the price of this one. Both would probably work, but this one seems to have two advantages. One is that the spring mechanism is stronger on this one. I figure that it will not only likely last longer, but most importantly, it's less likely to shake and come loose when riding over bumpy trails. Secondly, the length adjustability is easier this one, merely needing to turn the lower leg one way or the other to shorten or lengthen. In contrast, the other kickstand needs a hex wrench to adjust the length.Both of the kickstands have somewhat larger feet, which is important if you're going to sit the bike on softer or uneven ground. In an urban setting, I'm sure I could find a wall or some other solid place to perch the bike for a brief stop. But it's when I might be going onto a trail of some sort where I might want a quick stop, a larger foot is going to be more steady.I'm docking one star because this came with no instructions as to how install it. I'm a novice when it comes to the mechanics of a bicycle. While installation is not terribly complicated (It involves removal of the QR stem, and then putting the attachment point in-between the quick release lever and the frame), there are no instructions to tell you this. Moreover, there is an angle adjustment so that the foot lands on the support surface at the proper angle. Without instructions, I sort of had to guess (and successfully) that this part of the kickstand (using a hex wrench of a size I needed to experiment with in order to do it successfully) was part of the adjustment process.It would have been easier if instructions had been included. And by the way, the other kickstand at half the price included instructions with text and photos.In any event, I believe that this is the better kickstand. Given that it's still the winter season where I live, I have yet to put it to use.
