Actually I was surprised it worked and is working. I have a Great Pyrenees and he loves too bark. We live in the mountains of Colorado so the neighbors are too far away from us and the barking is not a problem. However, when he barks in the house (especially at night) it is problematic as we can't sleep. I placed the anti-bark device in the bedroom and set it on 15 feet. He barked a couple of short barks the first night and then went out the dog door to continue his nightly patrol and this means barking (which is ok as we have bears and other wild life he scares away). By the 3rd night, he almost stopped barking in the bedroom at night and goes outside to do his barking. He has an occasional short bark but quickly leaves the room where the device is on, and goes outside. I would say this is success! We are please with the purchase.

My daughter's little ankle biter (a toy/small Pom) is a noisy little dog, there's just no getting around that. She likes to bark and does so frequently, or did until I ordered this thing and turned it on in the space where she is normally the most noisy. Turning this on does nothing (other than blink a small light) that the humans in the house notice, but within a short period of time when the dog detected that someone had arrived and parked in front of the home the barking started and almost instantly stopped. In fact, the dog barked then turned around and ran into the other end of the home as if something had bit her or otherwise shocked her. Meanwhile, oddly enough, my own dog (a Cavy) doesn't give this thing any notice at all.That part, and unfortunately within my home, the presence of some birds that also like to get noisy, has complicated the use of this little device as the main culprit that needs to be retrained finds that the noise from others and not simply her own noise is leading to her being corrected. If not for those issues, I would expect that small dog would have learned quicker that her own noise is the main source of the need for correction and she would have calmed herself on her own noise.We can turn this device on or off as necessary, and we can adjust the range and have found it works well enough for us, though again it would have worked better if we didn't have the noisy birds or my own playful and noisy (at times, but mostly just a little bit of playtime) dog wasn't making noise.I would note that others in the reviews that I looked at before purchasing, as well as the manufacturer's information that was posted here, note that some dogs may not "hear" the noise that they should hear from this. So this is a bit of a your mileage may vary type device. For me, and my family, it has been a great tool and it has helped to quiet the noise for us. For that alone, easily rated at 5 stars.

When you have to wake up at 3am, a barking dog is the last thing you want to hear at 9pm. This product works as it should, some reviews said they could hear the dog whimper some, like they want to bark but can't, and that's exactly what happened with my neighbor's dog! I place mine in the window, it's been on the first setting and it's doing the job. Ordered it last night, it was here today. Thanks for the fast delivery!

Amazing! Our 2-year-old dachshund was driving us nuts! She was barking at me, snarling and charging at my ankles every time I walked into or around the room. My wife was at the point of returning her to the shelter that sold her to us two months ago. Then we bought two of these devices (one for upstairs and one for down) and turned them on. Our dachshund barked at me once downstairs, paused with a quizzical look on her face, then barked about two more times and then stopped! Later she barked at me once upstairs and then stopped! Since then, she has quit barking and charging at me altogether. A total change in behavior in just one day! Now we know we can keep her! We couldn't be happier or more pleased!

I never believed in things like this.. After reading reviews, I decided to try it. I could always return it. To my amazement, it really, really works!! My little dog barks at people, trucks, animals outside, when dinner is ready (hers &ours), you name it. She barks. With this, she barks once, then looks all around to see where that noise is coming from. We hear nothing but it's obvious she hears it. I'm hoping it will train her not to bark at every little thing.Well, 2 weeks later it quit working so I returned it. Very disappointing.

I purchased this unit because my neighbor's dog was constantly barking and his dog run is adjacent to my bedroom window. I had a similar problem with my German Shepherd puppy, but broke him from that in about a week with a bark collar. I told my neighbor, but he didn't want to break his dog from barking. So I purchased this device. When I turned it on, the dog would go all the way to the other end of his dog run. He would bark, then look around puzzled. That lasted for about 20 minutes. After that he returned to his non-stop all day, all night barking. I gave it to a co-worker who had a similar problem. She said her dog didn't like it and would hide inside the house, but it had no effect on her neighbor's dogs.

This was boxed up and sent back the same day. I’m not saying it doesn’t work...I’m just saying it didn’t work for my dog. She’s chihuahua and terrier mix...need I say more...:). I followed the directions to a t...set it on #1...still barked...set it on #2...barked louder..set it on the last setting..still went crazy....so alas...back to the water bottle...good luck to the rest of you with a noisy fur baby!

After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase the bark control. I have an annoying dog that barks in the yard adjacent to me. With that being said, I thought this little nifty item would do the trick. Well, the dog next door would bark all time of the day and night, so I placed the device on a table, not even 10 steps away. When the device didn't work, it was returned. I gave it 3 stars, for the fact that it is rather cute! And was delivered as promised, however, it did not resolve my issue.
