My Favorite Animated figure (besides Lockdown).
Wreck Gar has always been a cool character and I couldn't pass up the toy. It's a great figure and I'm really happy I grabbed it when I did.

disappointed.
I bought if for my 3.5yr old son, but it is too tricky to "transform" from robot to truck for him. The plastic it not great quality, and stress in the plastic is visible after 1 week from manouvering the moving pieces. I do not expect it to last very long.

Excellent figure for both Transformers fans and Weird Al enthusiasts
I missed out on most of the Transformers: Animated figures when they were in stores, and so I have to resort to conventions and online shopping to fill out my collection. Wreck-Gar was at the top of my list of acquisitions -- I'm not only a huge Transformers fan, but a massive Weird Al fan, and I knew I had to own the figure of the character he voiced in the show. Thankfully I was able to find him at a decent price, and I have to say he's well worth the money.Wreck-Gar, like most of the TFA figures, looks amazingly true to his cartoon self. Show-accuracy is one of the trickiest things to achieve with a Transformer figure, especially when you want him to transform as well, but with Wreck-Gar they managed it quite well. His neck is a little wonky in my opinion, but other than that he's quite true to the show. His transformation is a bit challenging but not maddeningly difficult, and while I found his "backpack" doesn't like to stay attached to his body, that could simply be a result of me buying the figure used. You might have better luck keeping him together if you buy him in the box...I'm also delighted to find Wreck-Gar has the light piping in his optics, something that most modern figures have ditched to my great sadness. I do find the antenna on the side of his head a concerning point, as it's liable to be the first thing to snap off if this figure is knocked around and/or given to a child. Just a word of warning if you want to hand this to a kid...One of these days I ought to meet Weird Al at a concert and see if he'll sign this figure. Until then, I'll still greatly enjoy this figure as a prized part of my collection.

"I am Wreck-Gar! I am only good for one thing... GARBAGE!"
A garbage truck transformer. NOT a garbage COMMA truck transformer. A waste management garbage truck transformer. I know, just take a minute to let the awesome sink in. Transformer Animate Wreck-gar is a great toy. His color palette of oranges, tomato reds, grays and ochres are a homage to his original G1 character. The truck is nice example of the translation from Animated's visual stylizing to physical toy. I especially the lifting arms gimmick on the front. I only wish the truck windows had been rendered in clear plastic, which shouldn't have been hard to do since it's a solid non transforming facade. (also the headlights and tail lights are transparent plastic with paint apps over them?!)The transformation is easy, but my Wreck-gar is pretty solid when pegged together and stiff in some joints so he might be more difficult for younger hands. Again your Wreck-gar may vary. He basically transforms out of his truck back which becomes a backpack in robot mode. Since it actually *was* a backpack in the show, this is one of the few cases of a backpack-former where it makes sense. I wish the door on the back of his truck mode opened so he could actually use the 'backpack' in robot mode like on the show. But, the storage of his weapons in a hidden pocket kinda make up for the backpack issues Robot mode is sweet. Captures the characterization perfectly down to the little details, crooked smirk, robo-facial hair and antenna on his TV head. Fairly poseable with articulated hands, and the light piping in the eyes works amazingly better than I expected. Oddly he only displays an Autobot symbol in vehicle mode. All in all, Animated Wreck-gar is a good solidly build and cleverly designed figure. I'd recommend for kids, collectors, fans of the show, fans of Weird Al, garbage truck enthusiasts... He originally retailed for about 20 bucks and sometimes goes for around 40 MISB on some sites, but if you can find him for around 20-25 or so he's great quirky bot. "Dare to be Stupid," Indeed! And remember parents: If you don't like challenging your children, BUY AGE APPROPRIATE.

I Am Wreck-Gar. I Am Only Good For One Thing...GARBAGE!
This is the 1st time Hasbro has given us a Transformer that turns into a garbage truck, I got him and Blurr today for Easter. The only problem I have is that the cab of the truck doesn't lock fully with the grill since the grill is his chest and the cab hides away. The 2 truck arms don't rest against the legs but against the dumpster on his back. He is very G1 accurate. Much better than the G1 excuse of a figure. I wish he could turn into a motorcycle and have Ratchet ride him but what are ya gonna do? I recomend picking it up.
