Packaging is good, the knife arrived in perfect condition. Knife is very sharp right out of the box. Feels light in my hand, nicely balanced. The handle is perfect for medium sized male hands, probably a little small for men with large hands. I think most women would find this a nice fit. Well made, with a nice overall finish and solid construction. Should last a lifetime.UPDATE!Still five stars! After one month using this knife every day for cutting anything, fruits, vegetables, meats, and product packaging, this knife is just as sharp as the first day I used it. I use this knife for anything and everything in the kitchen, it’s become my go to knife. After a month of continuous use I haven’t had to sharpen it at all, not even touching the edge up on a steel.

I have at least a dozen very high-quality knives. I bought this one for the size.Very quickly, it’s become my favorite knife! It holds a great edge, it’s easy to sharpen, the tip is fantastic for cutting anything. It’s not too big, it’s not too small. It’s perfect.If my house was burning down, I believe I would run into the kitchen and grab it to keep it safe from the flames.I have a few other Henckel knives, I love them all, but I’ve never loved any knife as much as I love this one.I often use it for cutting foods that a different shape knife would be better. But the different shaped knife isn’t better, because nothing is as good as this knife.

This is my third order of this knife. Before, I wrote that this knife looks like a high quality German knife. It has a very nice grip, is very ergonomic. It also was THE ONLY knife of this size anywhere on the internet. It is one inch deep, which is very hard to find in a 6 inch knife. Most of the deep knives are much longer and much deeper, like meat cleavers. I wanted one just to cut Honeydew, primarily ( I am afraid of the much bigger knives) I needed this size, substantial but not huge.In my first review I wrote that every time I make that first cut into a melon, I have to push hard. I thought that the end, the tip, should be sharper. But after having this knife ( now three orders of it), I feel that it is an excellent knife. It is very high quality for the money. I am now used to using it. My family members like it so much that I have now ordered this third one. I decided this is the best knife on the market for this size. I recommend it very highly now.

Super sharp and I like the size.

I find myself using this knife quite a bit—it’s big enough to handle a cantaloupe but small enough to work really well for slicing shallots. I’ve had it about a month and it’s still really sharp. It’s pretty light, so easy to control. The only downside is the blade isn’t shaped to allow that rocking cut for mincing, but otherwise I really like it. (Although I have pretty small hands; it might be a little hard to handle for someone with big hands.)

This knife has a good, sharp edge. However, it is far too light for doing heavy duty cutting and carving.

Bent the tip on the old one after 20+ years. Perfect match to the set. Great quality. Sharp!
