I bought these map pushpins for that exact purpose! :) To use on my scratch off map (that I also found on Amazon).When I received these pushpins and opened my box from Amazon at first I thought the container must be missing some pushpins since the container was only about 1/3 full. I counted the pins because I'm a bit particular about getting what's advertised/what you pay for. There were 103 pushpins in my container, so the product is as described- not fewer pushpins than advertised. I think the container is a little larger than needed so it only looked like there must have been a mistake with the number. I saw someone else mention in a review that the colors of the pushpins are inconsistent from one order to the next- I can't comment on this since this is the only time I have purchased this product. I can only say that the package of pushpins I received has a good variety of vibrant colors- great to use on a map. Not 24x36 inches as the listing says. So any 24x36 inch poster will hang over the edges a little- about 1/4 inch on each side. This isn't really a problem but it may be important to note that you won't see the edges of the board frame if you hang a 24x36 inch poster on it.

Cheap, useful. Upset that colors change from box to box and the breakdown of colors does as well. I loved the warm yellow of my first box and ordered a second. The yellow pins in that one were harsh and highlighter yellow--kinda obnoxious and not matching. In one of three boxes the blue is dark and rich and the other two it's royal but faded, even having white swirls in it kinda. I bought an antique-looking 2'x3' US map, aluminum-framed bulletin board, and these pins on Amazon for my Americana-themed bedroom. I painted the board's aluminum frame gold, which looks beautiful. Then I attached the map with small staples and lastly have put pins in places I've been. Since there are green, blue, black, red, yellow, and white, I am using different colors for different states, so for border towns you can tell which side it's on by color, i.e. Texas is blue, South Dakota is yellow, Colorado is red, etc. Really cool to glance up from my bed and see where I've been. Almost no white, so I used those for capitals and may even make them gold. Number of each color varies greatly from box to box, but for this price, I'm not complaining. So glad to find what I wanted so cheap!

So, we actually only got these because I asked Alexa to add some push pins to my cart and these are what she added. I'm glad she did! We use them in our "places we've been" map and use a different color for different things. These are great colors (nothing funky or weird) and you get a decent amount of each color which is essential if you're using them to color code something.I will say the pin portion are a bit thicker than I expected. That said, it really doesn't bother us, but is something I think should be pointed out.

Standard map pins are surprisingly hard to find in person, so I was glad to find them on Amazon! The pins in this box of 100 are an adequate length for using on cork boards or pressing directly into drywall (if you intend to make the holes permanent). I was happy to have all six colors and relieved the box offered a nearly identical amount of each. Since purchasing, I've found them in person for about 50 cents less, but all in all I'm happy.

Arrived in a box with other items. Packaged tightly, no loose pins. All tips look sharp. Colors are generally bright, though the red is more of a red-orange. Color distribution as follows: black-11; blue-12; white-13; yellow-17; red-17; green-29. (Total 99 - I didn't bother re-counting to see if I missed one. Close enough to 100.)

This product arrived exactly as described. My only complaint is that there is an uneven distribution of the colors included in this box.Update as of July 2016: These pins have worked well for the project I purchased them for last fall. I used them as part of a bulletin board display to mark the literary settings we "visited" in class on a map. The pins went into the board easily and never fell off. The plastic case they came in has held up as well; I still use it to store my unused pins.

These were exactly as advertised. They will work best on a cork board. We used them on a map project that was glued to plywood and with some effort they went in and we lost very few to damage. The damage was to be expected being we used them on such a hard surface. I would recommend these as great map markers. The length was perfect for what we where looking for.

There's only so much to say about push pins/map pins.I used mine with some cardboard from gift wrap to make a rain stick.

Not much I can say. They are fine. I can't see how this could ever be a 5 star product?Will buy again if needed.
