An Excellent Printer For Home Use
My trusty but aged LaserJet 1100 has been in terminal decline for a few months and I have been carefully evaluating the market to find a suitable replacement. I arrived at the conclusion that a tank inkjet would suit my particular needs which are a basic mono printer without all the bells and whistles. Epson was my first choice because it is a company with a distinguished heritage and they also manufacture in the Phillipines rather than China. This model, ET-M1120, was exactly what I wanted and at a very reasonable price point. It has a majority of highly rated reviews but I always carefully evaluate the content of poor reviews and in this instance there does appear to be a consistency of criticism. However, given the lack of an alternative product with the features I wanted, I decided to proceed. I am very pleased to report that I am exceedingly satisfied with my purchase. The machine is well packed to protect against the stress of delivery. The power cable is of a length that should be suitable in most home locations. The printer itself is compact and true to the quoted dimensions. The instructions for set-up are in good English and easy to understand. If you do not want to expose your self to the mystery of WiFi there is the ability to use a USB cable (not supplied) to connect direct with your computer. However, I chose WiFi because of the freedom of location it gives you. I connected using WPS and following the instructions provided there were absolutely no problems and all my computers connected first time. Day to day printing operation is very straight forward and has worked 100% for me during the past two weeks. The print quality is clean and bold with no trace of fade or distortion. I should add that I use medium quality 80gm paper and find this a perfect match for this printer. The speed of printing is very good but can appear a little noisy in the middle of the night in a quiet room!Like much technology these days there are some features and reports that are somewhat obtuse but these are things which you are hardly ever going to use. The only negative point I would mention is that the plastic build is very light, particularly in the paper delivery area. However, I consider that unless a young child is set loose on the machine, it should withstand normal domestic use for many a year.I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a basic, economical mono printer which provides quality output.

Superb Eco Tank Printer
I bought the ET2120 printer as the cost of laser toner was just getting ridiculous, £400 for a brand new set, more than the cost of my laser bought from new. My old laser was colour, didn't really needed colour for what I print daily so started looking for mono laser. I came across the ET2120, thank you Amazon algorithm, did a little research and watched a few YouTube vids about the printer, liked the Eco Tank system and low cost of replacement ink so took a punt and bought one.Very easy to set up, no Ethernet connection with the baby, WiFi only, took literally minutes to set up. If you have a modern router, just connect via WPS and it's job done. I use mine with Linux, Chrome OS and Apple Air Print, no doubt it will work with Window OS too but I don't have any Window computer at home.Print quality is sharp but not pin point sharp like laser. My usage is roughly 40 sheets per week, around 40% coverage. I am still on my first bottle of ink, the one that came free with the printer, settings tells me I've printed just over 1.5K pages so far, I think with my usage, I'll get just over 2.5K pages before needing a new bottle of ink. Printer was purchased in July 2021, genuine HP replacement ink cost roughly £12.00 per bottle, I'm chuffed to bits at how cheap they are. Printer cost me £103.00 (sold by Amazon) and I've seen it as low as £90.00. This is, hands down, the best purchased of mine in the last few years. If I ever come across Amazon selling the ET2120 close to what I paid for this last year, I'm buying another purely as a back-up.As to the scanner, never used it but I believe you can use it as a scanner/copier, may be useful for some.

Not a printer I would recommend
Update Feb 2023.Finally had enough of paper wrecks, head cleaning almost every time I use it as it hadn't been turned off correctly, (yes it had !!), and being a general pain in the backside for printing. It's in the bin as an expensive mistake and I am about to order another HP. Never ever again Epson.Microsoft stopped support for my HP printer which did the job perfectly well but ink cartridges were expensive. So had to get another printer and as don't do a lot of printing thought an ink tank would do the job cheaper. This printer seemed to fit the bill.I have been an HP printer user for many years, some printers better than others, but all performed well. This is my first Epson and it will be my last. Next one is back to HP.The print quality is good and filling with ink from the bottle was no problem. All downhill after that. The screen is tiny and not touch sensitive like my previous HP which is quite a few years old, obsolete according to Microsoft !Loading paper is a pain and a faff. Not easy and have to get it just right or paper wrecks are inevitable. The back removes for easy access to paper wrecks and as had so many with little printing I can see why it's needed. The output tray is flimsy, obscures the input paper and the printed paper often misses and ends on the floor unless properly fully extended. The printer powers off itself if left, but if it does then the head doesn't seem to cap properly so you get error messages and need nozzle clean next time it's used. So remember to power off after using it! It doesn't print emails or PDF's properly. Some PDS's are OK but others have blank blocks, presumably a driver issue.Printing some emailed tickets is seemingly impossible, never had the problem with HP printers. As I don't print a lot I will persevere but I can see it ending up in the bin before the second bottle of ink

Reasonably priced and sort of works well
A great little printer and reliable until you wish to refill the ink supply, when the whole things becomes a nightmare The menu window about the size of a postage stamp and needs a torch to read it. Bear in mind that to scan has to be activated from your computer and not the printer itself. I'm returning mine as I am unable to fill the printer with ink despite just purchasing a new bottle.
