Perfect for Grohe Shower 90 degree on/off
Perfect fit. I had 3/4” hot & cold going into the wall, to the temperature control but the on/off valve for the shower head and hand wand were 1/2” valves. This one was a counter-clockwise close.

German engineering at it's best
So, my Grohe kitchen faucet suddenly started leaking on the hot water side. Fortunately, I had saved the pamphlet that came with the faucet 10 years ago, and got the part numbers. It turns out Amazon had the link to the valve (s). I ordered both the left and right side, just to have it. Getting the valve out was a problem at first - the handle has a tenancy to be stuck on. 1st, turn off the water, then unscrew the little cap on top of the water handle and loosen the screw holding it. I was stuck at this point for a few days until I realized it was just stuck. I put a flat screwdriver under it and tapped upwards with a little hammer. Suddenly it came off. A little inner tube rubber and vice grips took off the housing, and a 17mm wrench released the valve. I popped the new one in, used a little plumbers sealant and put it back in. Worked perfect except it was now off was pushed back parallel to the wall, where as before both valves were pulled forward for off. I'm not sure why they were that way, it didn't make much sense. So I then put in the cold valve and "Bob's my uncle", it all works.

OEM makes a difference
Product is a genuine Grohe part and expects to outlast any of the aftermarket cartridges. Just be sure you get the correct model.

Easy to buy the wrong one - can be extremely difficult to install
Ignore everything in the description except where it says hot or cold. 4588300 is the cold side. 45882000 is the hot side. Getting at the cartridge to remove it depending on your faucet type can be really tough. The faucet handle might be stuck on very firmly. Those pullers on Amazon and at hardware stores are useless on faucet handles with rounded shapes - the pullers just slip off. Heating the faucet, soaking in vinegar and penetrating lubes does nothing. I finally made a tool out of a metal bar and 2 bolts and nuts. The bar went under the faucet and by turning the nut I finally got the faucet handle off. But then to get the cartridge out it was necessary to remove the entire tap assembly so it could be placed in a bench vise before I could get the cartridge free. Just wanted to explain because so many reviews said it’s easy to install. They must have a very different Grohe faucet than what we have (Geneva model). It took me days of trying different things to get it out.

Replacements for leaks
Purchased 2 and they worked great to repair the leak in our shower. It was worth every penny to do the repair ourselves. Did have any issues installing them in shower. Would make sure of the sizes needed and off-market parts do not mean they are an issue. I only paid $14 each.
