We have a metal baby gate at the top of our stairs, but our 3 year old can defeat the locks in seconds. We bought this bike chain to keep the gate locked, and without a key he is definitely not getting through. The lock itself is small but strong, made of heavy, sturdy metal. The cable which is wrapped in some sort of smooth rubber is nice and flexible. It worked for my application.As far as bike chains go to actually prevent theft…this lock only stops honest people. If you live in an area where bike theft is really common, this lock is not for you. This isn’t some sort of high end lock with with ultra thick metal made to deter professional thieves from stealing an expensive bicycle. A pair or harbor freight bolt cutters defeats this (and most other) small bike chains/locks in literally one second.This lock stop random passersby hooligans from committing crimes of opportunity walking away with an unsecured bicycle. As long as you keep that in mind it’s a nice functional lock. I am satisfied for what I bought it for.

This seemed to be a quality product with which to lock my motorcycle helmet to my bike. It was fairly compact, appeared sturdy enough, and being able to lock it without the key, by pressing down on the button was a nice feature. Unfortunately the cable was just not long enough to attach the helmet to the bike.The cable is somewhat flexible so you may think that if you squeezed it a bit, you might pick up a little extra length, but the cable needs to be in the circular position for it to engage and lock properly. The attached photos show that the internal diameter is approximately 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 inches. If that doesn't give you enough space to lock your helmet, this item won't work for you.I do like it and if this product were made in a slightly larger size, I would probably buy it. Being able to lock it without the key is a nice feature in my opinion. Unfortunately, I had to return this one.

Bought this trying to lock my helmet to my motorcycle bars that wasn’t 6ft long, but this was slightly too small to make it through my helmet chin and around the bars, I was realizing hoping it would work because it feels strong and is small enough to throw under my seat

We use this for our French door refrigerator as we have a special needs child and he would eat the whole contents of the fridge overnight if given the chance. The keys work great and having2 makes them easy to have one available and one hidden for emergencies or if other is lost.

Really like this product for securing my helmet to my bike. Although the metal tip is 17.5mm in size, which may or may not fit through your D rings. It works fine on my Harley Clam shell with the larger D rings but does not work on my Bilt Modular helmet. The ring/loop is large enough that I can raise the face shield and loop it through the face and connect it to a crash bar or my back rest support. The cable is rubber coated so you don't have to worry about it scratching things. Easy to lock and unlock, once unlocked you just put it back together and press down on the key button. So you don't have to have the key to lock it, just to unlock. Overall, I really like this product and would buy it again.

When they showed up I realize they were better than I thought I am able to attach my helmet onto my motorcycle like this because my new helmet does not have D D rings so I could not use the existing lock this way I can latch it through the face shield

After only a day of use, the lock is now stuck on my scooter! After trying to remove it, the lock cuts extremely easy (which was to be expected)I would not recommend using this lock if you value your time and the item it's attached to.
