Kingdian 500gb External SSD USB 3.0 3.1 Portable Solid State Drive

Use this drive on a PC, laptop and Amazon Fire tablet. Small and faster file transfer than using a flash drive. A very small and convenient portable SSD. Mine came with C to standard USB lead, adaptor and a carry case. If you are interested there are Youtube videos about this drive, including case removal to show the board layout. PLEASE NOTE, you may need to format the SSD to your preferences, in my case exFAT which is compatible for most devices. I have no hesitation in giving it 5*

Bang for buck this is a great little SSD drive and its form factor is tiny. For the price good read & write speeds, its not lightening fast but usable for editing and back up.

This SSD is about the size of a cigarette lighter and comes with a USB A to USB C cable which is about 15cm long. The drive itself has a female USB C connector so is future proof to some extent. When I connected it to my windows 10 pc it recognised it immediately and could transfer files to it within seconds. The one I bought is 120gb which is big, but I still managed to fill half of it with just the photos off my wife’s phone. The drive seems fast, but it was connected to a USB2 port on my pc, but it is capable of USB3 so should be even faster in a more modern pc. If you can I would buy the biggest one you can get, as you can never have enough HDD space, and what seems large today is small tomorrow

I was looking for a small relatively high capacity usb drive and found this instead. Slightly bigger than expected, but pleasantly surprised with case and cables it came with. I backed up 240GB of music & pictures reasonable quickly, so for what this is, very impressed & will be interested to see a 1tb version

This is a brilliant for its size, it's quick and easy to setup and convenient to carry around with you as its so light

I purchased three of these for three different systems.1) Cable was faulty - have had to replace this with a different cable to get the drive properly detected. Initial device scanned but couldn't re-negotiate communications.2) Connector on the drive itself is faulty. Moving the drive (as in touching it on the desk) caused the device to disconnect.3) Actually worked..., but, this is not a 240GB disk.The device came with a sticker saying 250GB. The device itself 'claims' is 250059350016 bytes. and shows 232.9GiB, PRE FORMATTING. After formatting it is 218GB of usable space (dependant on which filesystem, block size etc. this was with default settings)However the drive appears to have significant overheating issues.Initial tests of the drive with the default NTFS (detected) filesystem showed a write speed of 30-40 MB/s (4M block size). Not great, but better than SD speed. This was with a loop writing 1GB files.I re-formatted to an ext4 partition and ran a full test. In a room at 22 C. The first few 1GB files write at ~200MB/s. This is a usable speed for me.Then the drive starts to get very hot (and this is where I also got a disconnect from number 2 as I put my hand on it to check the temp). The speeds drop down to ~100 MB/s by the time we get to the 10th file. By the 40th file the speed are down to 30MB/s. This is becoming unusable speeds.Unplugging the device and plugging it back in again has not improved the speed as the device is still hot.Running the test to completion, the speeds of the drive have dropped to a miserable<10.0MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 131.125 s, 8.2 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 151.193 s, 7.1 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 147.506 s, 7.3 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 135.729 s, 7.9 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 168.589 s, 6.4 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 126.084 s, 8.5 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 145.111 s, 7.4 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 112.661 s, 9.5 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 151.731 s, 7.1 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 122.52 s, 8.8 MB/s1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 144.013 s, 7.5 MB/sLeaving the device off (physically unplugged ) for a period of time and it gets back to standard speed. However, leaving it plugged in overnight, it is still hot, and it improved slightly, but not to a usable number.Will be returning them for a refund.

Es un disco duro que cumple. No esperes una velocidad extrema, pero para su precio está muy bien. Recomendado

L'ho acquistato per sostituire un HD magnetico da 2,5 inch perché già quasi pieno e per essere più leggero e comodo.Nel trasferimento dei dati (750 GB) dal vecchio HD al nuovo SSD, quest'ultimo ha raggiunto temperature di 48-50°C.Nell'uso normale non riscalda così tanto.Funziona bene solo col suo cavo in dotazione (circa 15 cm).Con altri cavi o prolunghe, anche se di tipo USB 3, comincia a dare problemi. Nel senso che scompare e ricompare in continuazione da risorse del PC. Ma potrebbe essere un problema di qualità dei cavi e non del disco.Nel complesso sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

Ottimo prodotto, super compatto e davvero comodo nel taglio da 1T. Mi è arrivato via oriente, infatti la consegna non è stata rapidissima e in più non in scatola come da foto ma in una busta, prodotto che appariva comunque muovo. Dopo aver effettuato la formattazione apple, si è integrato perfettamente per l’uso con ilMac

Il case sembra solido, composto di alluminio e plastica. Viene fornito di una piccola custodia dove riporre anche il mini cavo usb-c, di fattura economica ma considerando il costo direi che è adeguato.Velocità in lettura molto buona per essere così piccolo, simile a quella di ssd sata (~ 330MB/s). In scrittura di poco più lento e sembra reggere bene anche con file di piccole dimensione ma dovrò fare test più approfonditi.Per quanto riguarda l'affidabilità ne riparleremo tra un anno.Se cercate un dispositivo di archiviazione piccolo e veloce senza dover pagare anche i costi extra dei soliti brand affermati prendete questo KingDian senza esitazione.
