This is probably the best silicone gasket maker in the world. Years ahead in development from the common autoparts store black stuff. Made in Japan, Yamabond was created for the motorcycle world, where engines withstand large amounts of vibration, heat, dust and impacts. In a motorcycle tolerances are minimal and lubricant fluid quantities much less than in cars, so a small leak can be catastrophic.This is the recommended sealant for all those parts of the engine that are hard and expensive to reach and change.More than 10 years ago I remember using this product to seal an oil leak in the gasket between the engine block and the oil filter housing in a BMW e46 330i, M52 engine (this is a common failure in this engine). To this day, I never had another leak.

Hey... it's glue!I typically used this on one side of a gasket to keep them in place prior to bolting stuff together.Some books say to use this on case-halves, but I later learned you want to use the grey, Yamabond #4 for that purpose.

Just put a new gasket and cover on my bike's stator and lathered it with this stuff and no leaks!
