Perler Beads Rare Bugs and Birds Jungle Animal Craft Activity Kit, 2005 pcs

I'd never heard of Perler Beads till I stumbled upon them on Amazon recently. I'm happy I did. For a reasonable price, they offered hours of fun for my granddaughter, who just loved them. First she followed patterns included in the package, and then started making her own. We also found a couple patterns online that would work for the included little 14 x 14 pegboard.I wish the product came with a container to keep the differently colored beads separate. Luckily, I had a plastic tray with dividers that helped organize things.I don't know a trick for ironing the beads together perfectly. Some colors seem to melt more quickly than others. Hard to know what's just enough heat to make the beads stick, and what will melt them a bit.

Most perler beads do not come with any instructions on how to build the designs but this set gives a guide to make these animals. My son has had a blast turning them into magnets and keychains. Really neat set with interesting multi colored beads.

Love the birds, lizards, frog and butterflies the best! There are so many possibilities for color patterns with the lizards and birds especially. We only recently discovered the Perler hobby and we are having a ball! Both my sister, whose the one creating and her family, friends and co-workers who are also getting pieces. There are so many possibilities with this company!

The black and white and other stripes were a hit! My kids liked the lizard and the bird the most, as the other rare bugs required following a pattern and placing pieces on a square board. That's probably due to their ages. I would have had fun with the challenge of the square peg board, but I was too busy having fun helping my 4 year old finish his first bird. After following the color pattern on the bird, he followed up with confidence in designing his own lizard. My 15 year old even loved designing the birds and lizards. What a hit.

This is a fun summer activity for kids. If you live in AZ, like I do, it's almost hot enough to do without an iron! There's lots of room for creativity and originality. If you're looking for something to keep the kids busy and happy, this is it. The colors can be a challenge to separate though.

These projects come out beautiful! We had a little trouble with the “stand” for the tiny birds, but those were a bonus pattern anyway. The rest came out fantastic! Colors stay vivid and beads stick together well.

My 10 year old granddaughter loved this at Christmas.

Perler beads in general, are awesome. My kids can't get enough of them. This set in particular made for beautiful creations. We've bought a lot of sets and this is by far our favorite. I might buy another one, since we've used up all our striped beads and there's always so much competition for each mold!

Kids love these. We give them to their friends as birthday presents - very popular.

Great set of colourful perler beads and pegboards. The design suggestions were helpful to get beginners started producing pleasing products. Easy to follow the patterns provided.
