First and foremost we have tried every single detangling spray in the mainstream that you can probably think of at all of the big box stores. We have a wide range of hair types in my household but for the 3 of us without fine straight hair, nothing has ever worked for us on a level we were satisfied and felt the money we spent was justified.My daughter has 2B hair and anytime she sits with her head rested on a couch, or sleeps with her head it immediately goes from bouncy curls to matted mess. Even after a haircut the first time her hair touches anything it mattes up in a knotted mess.My fiancée has thick wavy hair that when brushed after a shower, immediately tangles and knots back up immediately after a brush passes through it. No matter how many times its brushed or combed through it clumps into knots that are almost impossible to pass a brush through.I have a huge head of shoulder length hair that puffs out, tangles, and mostly knotts near the ends. No where near as bad as the women in my household but enough to where brushing the ends out can be painful, even after a trim.For every SINGLE member of our household, after following the instructions, we found for every single one of us were able to easily pass brushes and combs through our hair, it added a tiny bit of weight to my mop of hair that kept it better manage but didnt make it appear greasy or weighed down, and not only did it STAY untangled and manageable throughout the entire day, but after sleeping all night and well into the 2nd day after applying the detangling spray from Mane and Tail we all were able to once again easily brush through our hair without any additional products.My daughter begged me to buy this stuff from now on because its the first time in her life brushing her hair has been quick and painless. My hair type:I have somewhat hard to manage coarse hair. It's coarse because it has rarely ever been managed in it's natural form. My natural grade is not what I would consider "good hair". Its kinked and dry. With prolonged conditioning, it can produce "extremely" tight spring coils when wet. other than that, its a puffy mess dry.My purpose:I'm trying to transition from relaxed to natural. I use this product every day to spray on my new growth to comb it out. Without it, my hair snaps at the meeting point of the natural and relaxed hair. I wear my hair pulled back in a bun. Since I have a big head, the puff of my new growth would make my head even bigger if I didnt comb it and lay it down damp. This may not be the "approved" way of transitioning, but it's working for me! the product reduces my breakage at the time of combing.My uses:Dry-combingAfter shampooing detanglingThe product:I didnt give this product 5 stars because if you are looking for a moisturizing leave-in conditioner.... thats not what this is. it does what it says... DETANGLES. The texture of my relaxed hair after using this product doesnt feel soft and silky. It actually feels squeaky and stringy, but my point is to detangle. I follow-up with my normal products after.Best experiences with this product:- Deployed to the dry & dusty country of Afghanistan. The water is HEAVY with chlorine for disinfecting purposes, so even with detangling shampoos/conditioners, my hair was stubborn... this product still came through best.- Terrible micro braid removal experience with KNOTS. I sprayed the knots, let product sit for a few minutes, then attacked knots with a rat-tail comb.Im about to buy a few bottles because I'm down to my last few drops and cant find the stuff in the stores. this product is a necessity to my daily ritual as much as brushing my teeth.
