Women's Whisper Sport Sandal

These shoes are so inconsistent in sizing! I ordered several pairs (different colors) to compare them in person and determine which ones I liked best and wanted to keep. I ordered them all in size 9, but they all fit completely differently (see photos). Upon further inspection, I noticed the different colors are made in different countries. The "made in Mexico" pairs fit more like I'd expect. The "made in Thailand" pairs are way, way too small. I expect better from a higher-end brand like Keen. That said, once I decided which color I wanted to keep and ordered a bigger size, they are very comfortable (only worn around the house so far). I decided on the coffee liqueur color and think they are the most versatile for being sporty (hiking, etc.) or a little more "dressy" (walking around town, going to dinner, etc).

I have problem feet: arthritis, swelling, wide forefoot, narrow heels and now an injury. Therefore I have really high standards. These are almost a 5 star. While wider than many shoes & sandals, the Keen brand comes with an expectation of a roomy footbed. These are just a bit tight and I'm hoping they stretch with wear.I wear an 8.5 to 9 depending on the style or brand. I bought the 9 which is the same size as my Keen Durand Mid WP hiking boots that I love (& wear with thick socks). You could tighten the bungee and make these quite narrow and/or heel gripping.These sandals are cute and have great support. I love the fun magnet/sangria colors. The sole and footbed are exactly what I expect in a sandal from Keen: springy and structured. The sandal fabric is soft against my feet. No blisters when worn right out of the box.The best surprise is how cool and airy they are. I normally am barefoot or wear flip flops. My foot problems need more support right now and these are the answer!If these stretch out a little, I'd give them 5 stars.

Thought these shoes would be the perfect answer for a trip that included cities, hiking and a few river crossings. Wore them for about 15 days on a three week trip and was happy until the stitching started unraveling in four different locations. I called Amazon as the 30 return period was over by two weeks. The Amazon rep contacted Keen, but they said they would only provide a credit to be used at Keen (not Amazon) and the prices were much higher. Amazon would have exchanged them but did not have the item in my size. Amazon agreed to refund my purchase price (go Amazon!). Shoes should not start falling apart after 15 days!

I'm going to confess that I'm an old hippie and I love my Birkenstocks which I wear all day, everyday. Recently my right knee has been very painful, at my age not too much of a surprise, and was getting worse. While visiting my fabulous chiropractor I mentioned that my knee was suddenly hurting so she asked me to walk away from her and back again. "Those shoes have to go!" was her first comment. She advised me to find something with a back strap that won't allow me to walk on the outer edge of my feet (supinate). I grieved for a day or two and then got busy finding something that fit her recommendations. I ordered these in a 7.5 which is my regular shoe size and got busy trying to prove Dr. smarty-pants wrong. After wearing these for two days my knee completely stopped hurting. Not only that I love these! I can wear them to the beach, out to a casual dinner, I even played 18 holes of golf and they were wonderful! I just hose them off when they get dirty and off I go. Now, I must have more colors.....

These Keen "Whisper" model sandals are the second pair that I have purchased this season. These sandals are very comfortable. Machine washable also. Many in my family wear Keens. I just happened to find a "Whisper" Red Radish model at Nordstroms by following their reviews regarding fitting a narrow foot. If you are looking for a sandal that will work for a NARROW foot, these are the ones to buy. It is very difficult to buy casual shoes for an 8 Narrow size. Could only find black color on Amazon through Peltz....a great shoe company.

***Update***I purchased the -W111-LGY_Women 9 B(M) Atika Women's Maya Trail Outdoor Water Shoes...Sold by: Teslagear Inc. to replace these Keen Whispers and am will pleased with them. Check out my review for details and see me wearing them in the pictures below (they are light grey). They are half the price of the Whispers and well-made. The run big so get a size down though.**Original**I just received the shoes this afternoon and am extremely disappointed. These shoes were VERY POORLY made, especially considering it was almost $100. The top-sole portion near the heel is split with glue holding it together. And there are literally chunks of glue all over the shoes as if to patch up tears and poorly sewn sections.(You may need to zoom in a bit to see the glue because it is an opaque white/clear color.) This is a reputable brand so the only logical conclusion I can come to is that this is a knock-off and not real Keens, or they are outsourcing and not checking the quality of the product. I am going to return this immediately and find something locally for my upcoming trip.

These are the perfect outdoor shoes. I use these for hiking in the mountains, hiking near the river, going out on the lake, and much more. They are comfortable from the first time you put them on. I can wear them on an all day hike and my feet feel fine at the end of the day. If you are in areas where there are snakes or more dangerous wildlife and terrain, I may say pick a different shoe that has more protection for those hikes, but for all other hikes and water excursions, these are WONDERFUL!

After researching quite heavily into a new pair of walking sandals I decided to try these based on the number of positive reviews. Sadly, they were tight at the top of the laces with very little ability to widen the gap.I fully loosened the laces but they didn't really alter the fit much, especially at the back of the sandal. Although just trying them on, they felt OK, I felt that once I'd worn them for any period of time, they would become uncomfortable and would no doubt pinch.Very disappointing really. I've had similar style sandals that were able to adjust the fit in a number of ways to make them comfortable, these did not.I've gone back to my Hi-tec sandals, much comfier, more flexible fit, hard wearing and £50 cheaper!

These are very comfy right from first wear. I have a high instep and they did press on the top of my foot at first but stretched ok after a go with the ball and ring stretcher (it's a real thing for stretching shoes in certain places).I've worn them on a 5/6 mile walk with rocky underfoot. They aren't as stable as my hiking boots but they do a good job. I've not found them to be slippy. For these longer walks though I will wear an invisible sock because the rubber under your foot will get a bit rubby when hot and bothered.They look really good and people have said they really like them.They will go in a river or a stream but then will be a bit rubby on the bottom of your foot. But to be fair that would be expecting too much from a pair of sandals.Little stones will get in but not as much as with other sandals.So overall, not a boot, but for a walking sandal, the best one I've ever had.Easy on and off.

Having had a pair of Keen sandels that had lasted over 6 years of heavy use, and still functional though tatty looking. I decided to invest in another. These new sandals are smaller than my old ones for the same size and much narrower. I have slim feet so this isn't a problem, though could be for others. The grips also appear to have changed are not as deep as my old pair so will be interesting to see how they wear.Haven't yet taken them for a long walk so have not been able to award 5 stars.

Desperate to find comfy shoes I had to trust the other reviews, I wasn't disappointed, I have suffered from plantars for over 10months and arthritis in my knee and at 52 was walking like a 92yr old on a bad day, these have put a new spring in my step and I am now able to enjoy long walks again. It's great they do half sizes as I am sometimes a 6/7, bought 6.5 and they fit perfectly. Sorry if this is long winded but they really are worth raving about, have now bought the walking boots ready for the winter.
