In The Swim Liquid Sand Filter Cleaner – Fast-Acting Concentrated Formula for Improved Pool Water Filtration - 1 Quart

I have a 40,000 gallon in ground pool. I have had it for over twenty years. During that time, not once did my pool maintenance man tell be about cleaning the sand in my filter, other than backwashing it. I happened to see this product while researching glass v. sand for the filter. I purchased a quart. I received it the next day. I followed the instructions as well as looking at a U-tube presentation. I poured the entire quart into the filter motor basket and then turned the filter motor on for about ten seconds. This enabled the cleaning solution to get into the filter. I then turned the filter off and let it sit over night. The next morning, I turned the filter to backwash and turned it on. You would not believe the gook that came our of the waste pipe. I backwashed the filter for about three minutes and then turned it to rise for about a minute. I then reset it to filter and turned the pump on. The pressure that flowed from the filter into the pool was probably twice the strength that it was before I cleaned the filter. My pool is now crystal clear. I plan to clean the filter like this every month or so during the summer. What a great product.

I was having issues with the pressure in my pump. I tried everything including another product. I doubled the dose of this product and let it sit for an hour and a half, I did a backwash for about five minutes, put it in rinse and then filter, all my pressure was back! I highly recommend this product for sand filter system maintenance. If you’re having issues with your return pressure, before you go changing the sand or buying a new pump, use this product!

Cute into pool stains like nothing. Great for when you get a ring around your pool.

Product is easy to use and works well. Seems a bit pricey for what it does, however.

I have a 20k gallon inground pool, sand filter has 500lbs of sand. Sand is going on 7 years and I thought I might have to replace it as it didn't seem to be as efficient as it used to be. I decided to try this and since it was the first time, I followed the directions and used the entire bottle. (1 cup per 100lb of sand), so I was actually a cup short as this is only 4 cups. Even still, I noticed a big difference, no more fine dust coming through the filter. I bought some more, will use next time I backflush just to make sure the sand is as clean as possible. And, also have a hot tub that uses the cartridge filters, going to try it on those since I've yet to find a product that cleans them good enough.

Works fast

I was having trouble with the pressure readings in my 5 year old sand filter,way to high. I backwash and rinsed to no avail.I decided to use this in my filter after raising the water level so I could really backwash for a longer period of time.After using the product ( I used the pump strainer instead of skimmer, more direct to the filter)I let the product sit in the filter for an hour as directed. When backwash I did see more than usual non clear water but the pressure reading was still to high. So the next day I did it again. This time I used 9 Oz. and let it sit in the filter for 2 hours, an hour longer did the trick. The merky water was startling. Now the pressure is way down and the water sparkles.Great product.
