my old oven gloves ripped apart in between the thumb and the finger area, so I decided to buy this pair because of extra protection in the area where my old ones have developed holes. I am very pleased. The gloves are thick and I can handle very hot pots. The area in between the thumb and the finger part of the gloves benefits from extra protection. I believe this patch is made of true leather, or at least this is how it looks to me. Great idea whoever came up with it, I think all gloves should have this extra layer of material

gloves are great but....there are a few issues,firstly they are very large and for people with small hands these oven gloves are not for you,secondly they are very thick which makes picking up or gripping items quite difficult but as heat resistant gloves they work fine...have not cleaned them since i purchased them so that's why i left the easy to clean stars at zero

I work in a kitchen so use ovens daily we have gloves at work but rarely use them because they are stiff and not safe because you can’t feel what you are grabbing. These oven gloves though are great, they are soft and comfy inside and soft and flexible straight from the packet and will get even better after a few uses. I had no issues grabbing baking trays and dishes from the oven and they protected well from the heat. They might not be the cheapest you can buy but the quality justifies the cost.
