I am shocked! They really work!
Holy smokes they actually work! We fly quite a bit and I usually have to bring Benadryl and over-the-counter pain relievers for my nine year-old. She has been experiencing ear pain when flying since she was a toddler. I wish I would have found these sooner!Read instructions: When your child inserts in the ear, you need to make sure that they plug their nose and blow out a little to open it up gently. My daughter was doing this a little bit throughout the flight as well while she had the plugs in. Ever since we bought them, she has had zero discomfort when flying! She used to complain about pain right after takeoff and about one hour before landing and several hours after landing. The pain is completely gone with these plugs.* she specifically likes this brand because they do not cancel out too much noise so she can keep the plugs in for the entire flight (if it’s a short flight three hours or less) and put her earphones over them to watch movies.

WHY aren't these given out free to parents with suffering children?!
WHY aren't these available for purchase ON PLANES or given out free to parents with suffering children?!I had been flying for 20 years with no issue greater than a 'plugged' sounding ear that may have lasted a day. Then one rather short flight had me near tears and asking the flight staff for help as I felt like my eardrum was ripping apart. (Staff gave me the hot towel in a cup trick...look it up, works...) Since then, I have used these and ears are fine! I've used both sizes. If you have routinely sensitive ears, follow the directions. (I put mine in for descent only.) I have gifted them to other folks who are surprised by the simple solution and happy with them.

Works, but still a little large for my ears.
Ok, this product is a little strange. I heard about these as a brief mention during a YouTube video, and since I always end up with plugged ears when flying, sometimes for days afterwards, and was going to be flying in about a month, I looked them up on Amazon and read some reviews. I have small ears, so I looked at the kids version. For me any earbuds, either the large or small, all give me headaches if I wear them very long. So, I got the kids version and hoped that they weren't too small, well, they are not, in fact I think they are still too big. I got headaches using them for the flights, but I preferred the headache to the throbbing, plugged up, can't hardly hear anything for days feeling in my head that I get otherwise. I have never flown before without having plugged up ears for at least a day or two! None of the usual remedies for unplugging ears work for me. So, these worked like a charm, and headache, that goes away by the next morning, is far superior!I wish they made them a little smaller yet, and maybe they would be perfect! My flights were a quick 1 hour, then a longer, almost 4 hour, then another 1 hour flight. For the two 1 hour flights, I left them in the whole time, since we pretty much just go up to cruising altitude and then start the descent. The longer flight, I only wore them during takeoff and landing. On the flight there, I forgot to put them back in right away when we started the descent, and when I started to feel it in my ears, I quickly put them into my ears, and was fine. So, in my experience you don't have to wear them an hour before takeoff or landing, as I think it says in the instructions. I put them in during the descent when I ears had already started feeling the pressure and still didn't get the plugged ears like I would have without them. Another flight, I didn't have one in all the way, and started to feel it in my ears, so I pushed it in farther and ended up taking it out and putting it back in and again was fine, no plugged ears after landing.I highly recommend these to anyone who gets plugged ears for days from flying! Worked wonderfully and I carry them in my purse at all times now, just so that I won't forget them the next time I fly. I also used the same set for all of my flights since they were all within a week. I think the reason why they recommend that they are only used for one set of flights, or within a short timeframe is because of bacteria and other grossness. You are sticking these in your ears, then storing them in the included case or your pocket (I'd recommend the case) and then putting them back in your ears. If the ick from your ears starts multiplying or growing on them in between uses, or they pick up outside contaminants between uses, and you put them back in your ears, that could lead to something unwanted, I don't know if it could lead to an ear infection, but they do seem to go in deep into your ears, so I just wouldn't use them too far apart.I had over the ear headphones that I used on the plane with these in my ears already they hardly stuck out from my ear canal, so they weren't in the way at all, and I could still hear the other passengers, flight attendants, and the movie I was watching. They did muffle the airplane sound some as well, which is nice.Overall, I highly recommend these, and look forward to using them on future flights!

Game Changer for Flying with Ear Issues
I used the children’s size EarPlanes since my ear canals are on the smaller side (for size reference I also use the smaller size for EarPods). I tried these on a flight while dealing with congestion and lingering ear problems from an ear infection, and they were a game changer. They don’t completely eliminate the pressure, but they slow down the changes enough that my ears can adjust comfortably—and I had zero pain during takeoff and landing. Highly recommend for anyone with sensitive ears or ear issues when flying!

Super uncomfortable - definitely not children's sized
I have been using Earplanes for years when traveling. I always get the children's sized, but in the past I've always gotten the standalone version that is only good for one or two round trips. When I saw this version with the carrying case, I thought I'd give it a shot since I was going to be on and off planes multiple times on my most recent trip. It shows these are children's size, and the actual silicone part that goes inside your ear does appear to be the same size as the other children's version; however, there is a hard plastic component that hooks the silicone plug to a base so that you can connect them to the neck strap. Unfortunately this hard plastic plug presses in on your ear canals making your ears super uncomfortable by the end of the hour that you need them in. I tried to see if there was a way to pull the silicone plug out of the hard plastic base, but it looked like it would break off and then it would be hard to grasp to pull back out of your ear. The concept of having them connect to a lanyard/neck strap is great, as is the reusable carrying case, but unfortunately the way in which they are made makes them super uncomfortable for an adult with tiny ear canals. I cannot even imagine a child trying to get these into their ear canals. So, if you like Earplanes and need the children's size DO NOT GET THESE! Continue to get the regular Children's Earplanes that come in 1 or 3 pairs to a pack and just use those. Great concept, but horrible execution.
